Ridge Report 2: Going Premium

"Yay, I went Premium! I'm so excited! I'm ready to see what lies ahead!"

Maybe it's because I just woke up. Maybe it's because I don't have a site yet and am still taking in the basics. Maybe it's because I'm unsure I can currently handle the upcoming near $50/month renewal fee, which is apparently essential in upkeeping this venture. But the point is, I do not feel all that euthused about going premium. I see on other people's blogs that they enjoy having done so and are glad to have made that decision and are hopeful about what it brings. I'm happy for them. Congratulations. That's them, this is me.

Now, am I unhappy about making that decision? Not exactly, no. It was never a question of whether I would or not. I had the initial $20 to spare just to test out what I can use here. And the way I see it, it's an incentive to make the most of it. Start up the site, see how far I can get with it. See if I can make it work for me or not. Like I said, test it. So I was going to premium at some point in my trial period. Might as well get the most of it while I can, right?

That said, one could say I have certain expectations of both this program and the process of going premium. I don't. At least none that are set. I just want to see what it can do for me and what I can use from it. If it seems I can really use this, great. Then it was a good investment. If not, nothing ventured, nothing gained. Time to move on. No hard feelings. I understand this is a business, and like most businesses, it's a process and you have to start at the bottom. Therefore, I don't expect to be making loads of money in the single month that follows from here (would be nice, of course, but completely unexpected). But if I feel I can make some serious progress in that direction, hey, maybe it would be worth risking a little to keep the premium membership going.

I do note that even though this probably the first actually piece of action I've done since my short time here, I'm getting a lot of feedback from it. People telling me how much I'll enjoy it and that it was a good decision. I don't argue or doubt it. It's too early to tell. But I do thank you all for your support and will rely on it in the coming days. I will admit that this was one of the few reasons I even came here in the first place. All of the support that people experience here and an aspect that I see is very true.

In all, I mean no offense to those who were excited to go premium and any other members of this site when I leave this state of thought I have here. I would imagine those that have been premium for some time have found their level of success in doing so. And those that recently did it have high hopes and dreams in doing so. I'm happy for all of you and I hope you don't end up regretting that decision. Not to say I do, but time will tell, right? You may see me saying that a lot. "Time will tell." One of my personal statements I use often. But to me, it's the truth. Time will tell how this venture unfolds for me.
