What Do You Want For Christmas?

I have been thinking today about the fact that none of my children asked for anything this year. Even my 17-year-old, when I asked him, he said, it doesn't matter mom. I don't know if they just realize how people are hurting these days and feel guilty in asking for things that they do not need, or what the deal is this year, but it kind of makes me sad.
I started thinking a lot about this and realized that I really didn't want anything materially for Christmas, but there were things that I do want for Christmas. Maybe this is what my children are wanting too.
1. I want my family to be happy. I want them to have fewer problems the next year. I want their hearts to be lighter.
2. I want to create security for my family. I want them to feel secure in their family and that we will help each other no matter what.
3. I want to develop more meaningful relationships throughout the next year. I don't want to be around those that are superficial and say they care, but really don't.
4. I want make sure that my priorities are where they should be. Those priorities are to be made my me and my husband, not by others. There are times I let others create my priorities -- this is just crazy! LOL
5. I want to be part of the solution to problems and not the creator of them.
These things are really from my heart and I hope that you all will have a wonderful Christmas and will love your family and those you love like you have never loved before over this next year. As I get older -- and I'm not old so don't you dare say that LOL -- but I start to realize maybe I have not loved the way I should have over the years. Life goes by faster than you realize until the day when you realize it! (Real thought provoking, huh?)
My love and best wishes go out to each of you and hope your holiday season will be heartwarming and fun. I also hope you get all you want for Christmas!
