I have my website up. It is knitcrochetcorner.com. However, I do not understand how to customize the website itself. Looking for a tuturial that goes through every part of it
Hi Joyce..I knitt and crochet as well... I looked at your page.
You can go into Dashboard and play with customized Menu and also you could add New page on your actual Menu: for instance : Winter Collection hats...insert a picture and a description. .
Or Patterns. .you write a pattern with a download link where you can sell for $4 to $6 dollars...
You can play with Theme as well...before you publish them , check them out in Preview...
It can change the look of your website making it more attractive.
Take it as a game. ..
I played with mine yesterday. ..you can look at it, it's very colourful...I will change it again. .for now I just have fun with it..., changing and updating it.
You could try and google that theme and see what comes up. Or just play with it. As long as you don't mess with any code, you should be fine.

Go to wordpress.org and look under themes to find the one you've chosen. There should be some information there and usually a support forum too.

You should change your homepage to static and use the Kaps for Kids page as your landing page instead of the blogroll so people know what your website is about. You can always change it to the latest post later though but for now it’s better to use static.
Did you write your Privacy Policy, About Me and Kaps for Kids as a post? The way I see it, it’s a post because it shows up on your homepage blogroll. I recommend you to change it to a page and add all that to your menu.
You should rearrange the order of your menu. Home (Kaps for Kids) – Sample Page – About Me – Privacy Policy. Change the category name “uncategorized” into something else. You may want to consider deleting it from your menu for now because you don’t have a category yet.
As for your sidebar, get rid of everything and start over again. Don’t put everything there. I suggest you just put recent posts, recent comments, category, archives, and the search widget.
