I hate my job.

I have just come back from a glorious nine days off, and while I did not quite get as much accomplished as I would have liked to, I did get a tremendous amount done, and I am happy with my progression on my site.

Last night before going to bed my head was completely wrapped in my work, and how I need to continue.

Today, I am exhausted!

We are tremendously busy, and I feel emotionally guilt tripped into doing the overtime. I stayed till 8m today, and tomorrow I'm in at 7:30 am to 8 pm.

My question is this: How the hell am I supposed to find the energy to write an article on how crap online surveys are when I do not even have the energy to finish this blog I'm writing right now????

Starting out online was crazy town for me, what I did was cart a notebook with me everywhere and during breaks just furiously wrote down ideas sentences etc. At the start, it was like getting blood out of a stone. practice, practice things do come around, just a matter of balancing everything. you can do this Josh. focus on where you are going the doing will fall into to place. We are all on your team willing you on go for it.

Hey, thanks man. Great idea regarding the notepad! I do have ideas come to me throughout the day, and I quickly write them down on my notepad on my phone so that I don't forget them. That notepad keeps me busy all night usually!

Take a 15 min nap and go again. Best of luck, rember Josh you all your hard work will pay off in the long-term.
Regards.
Gerard.

Lol, I do sometimes take a 15-minute power nap, which occasionally turns into a 1 and a half hour sleep, then I can't get to sleep on the night, just to feel shattered the next day lol.

I have a lot more energy tonight though, not sure where it's coming from....

Josh you need to harness those gremlins that have been hijacking your profile images and comment notifications and put them to work for you man!

It is tough. I don't know how I would handle it if I had to put in 12 hr. days elsewhere.

Haha lol, I have my gremlin catcher all ready and primed, they just seem to evade my grasp at every turn :)

As has been mentioned by someone else, 12 hr days are the norm for some. Everyone's metabolism is different; some can hack it, some can't, and I am definitely a lightweight that would quite happily sleep 10 hours a night if I could work on my own terms. Other only need 4!

Exhaustion is one of the main reasons I am fed up.

BEDTIME!!!! What the hell am I still doing up!?! It's 1 am, goddamn you WA for being so engaging and supportive, just LEAVE ME ALONE so I can detach myself and go to bed :P

I'm gonna be (profanity)'d up tomorrow. oh well!

Cheers everyone for your support :)

You are in good company and you are going to get through this! Not only is there a wealth of information here but many of us in the same position. And we are surely here to help each other get through our "outside" jobs while setting up our home business.

You are in the right place. I am a Social Service Director for a medical facility and when I get home I am brain dead from helping patients and families. Trying to switch modes is a challenge.

What I have been doing is taking a 30 minute walk everyday and listening to podcasts made by individuals who have already walked this road in some way or another. What I learned today is that regardless of how tired you get, if you wake up encouraged and motivated with ideas for your project and at least think about it when you get home.....you will be successful. Keep pushing on and remember that we are here for each other and we will all make it to the "Golden Moment". :) Keep up the good work and thank you for all of the information you have given me. Your blogs are great!

Maggie

Cheers Maggie, your support is very encouraging and helps me with my mindset. The biggest problem I face isn't creative writing, it's writing in a way that is engaging, conversational and captivating.

I can write when I am tired, however, when I read it back it is sub-par. I have been told I am good at writing reviews (and my Grammarly review has received a lot of praise), but I just cannot write like that in the week.

The support of this community is great, and I am so glad that I joined WA, it has changed my life. Having something to focus on every night really does take my mind away from a certain addiction which I have blogged.

Thanks for your supportive words Maggie :)

Carve out at least half an hour. Do what will make you money. Write fast. That is the creative side of your brain working. Then come back the next day and edit. That is the logical side of your brain working. Move forward a little bit every day. You are not going to have much time to work your business when you are working 12/6, but it won't last forever.

Thanks Bill, great advice. Sometimes though I come home and my brain starts shutting down straight away; I have to have an hours kip just to have the energy to make it through the evening.

But every evening that I do have energy, I will be writing, and yes, I do find that editing is a LOT easier than writing. I did polish up my review of Grammarly last night, which I was rather pleased with. I guess the important thing is to keep moving forward, and there are others ways to progress than just writing. I.e I did keyword research for my Surveys article last night and found some suitable pics, so I'm on track!

Just keep pushing through! I have a mentally draining job (senior finance role), I have a near 2 year old and I'm also currently pregnant. Can I really be bothered to sit and write for 2 hours in the evening? No. But I'm still going. I have to make my first sale soon to get the motivation to keep going!!! It WILL happen if you make it happen! :)

Thanks, that's inspirational. I have started trying to write about online surveys, but given the fact I only had 5 hours sleep last night, I just haven't the energy.

Then again, I'm talking to someone who has a kid, and I can only imagine how exhausting that can be. Thanks for reminding me that I don't really have much to complain about, it puts things into perspective :)

It's hard Joshy and I honestly don't have the answer other than to say, keep pushing at it and you will get the results you deserve :)

Cheers Jude. Feeling disheartened today. Nothing moves when I'm at work, and I need things to continue moving. *F* working for a BS company for the rest of my life

What do you do Joshy? They seem to be asking a hell of a lot from you - more than 12 hours? It's crazy. Do you have a mobile device which you can use to do a little work in your break? :)

I work in a labour-intensive warehouse for a HUGE lighting company, and we're really busy at the mo. I do have a smartphone, but a 30 min lunch break is just not enough time to do anything constructive with :(

At most I can leave a comment via site comments, but that's about it.

I gather you have a full time and a half job. Coming back from vacation and being swamped may be a good sign, that you are valuable. Once it calms down and it will, start cutting back on those long hours and replace that time with WA work. Good luck.

Thanks, JD. I would love to just call in sick tomorrow, but I can't do that; money dictates!

Read the book, The one thing, it may help you.

Which book?

The one thing!

Oh, ha, I read that out of context. I thought your English was bad, and you were saying "read a book, it;s the one thing that may help you". Hahaha

Thanks for the tip :)

Hell, sorry, just leave 2 comments and gain one to keep your website alive

Good idea. The other alternative is to carry on with the training, but I'm too tired to concentrate properly.
