Have you done this?
After my latest post, my wife asked if I had set up a newsletter subscription service yet. I told her I didn't, and when I asked why I should, she told me that for one it's a good way to notify anyone that may have any sort of interest in my page that updates have been done. I already knew that part, but I know for me, it doesn't always work.
Then I had a little stroke of genius as I looked through some of my affiliate "offers". I noticed that some of my affiliates actually had some special discount codes that are provided to affiliates to promote. I was trying to figure out how I could integrate this onto my site and having a newsletter instead, seems to be a really good idea. Not only will I not have to litter my site with a whack load of affiliate links, but my visitors can take advantage of these discount/promo codes if they actually look through my newsletter.
I just set up my newsletter subscribe option on my site, but boy did it take a while to find a good one and how to set it up. I used WP Subscribe in conjunction with Mailchimp. We'll see how it works out and I hope I can get some subscribers. Let me know if this is something you guys do currently. Any other tips in regards to what I can include?

I am interested in doing something like this too. is WP subscribe a plug in? It would be great to hear how this works out for you
It is a plugin. It's a support plugin that works with mailchimp. After activating it, it's in the "appearance - widget" tab. It seems pretty straight forward to use once you see it. I would prefer the type that slides out (not pop-up), but we'll see how this one works for now. :)

I've been looking into email subscription lists for a while as well; but I'm still in the "Which one would work for me best?" and "What do I want out of this list?" phase.
It would be fantastic to know how your email list is going for you; keep us posted!
Absolutely will do. :)
