I wonder how many WA members are not using Wordpress?

I’m researching website builders for a blog post I am working on, and as I was doing it, I was wondering how many WA members are not using Wordpress.

When you start with WA, you are expected to use Wordpress. My research shows that almost 35% of all websites are built with Wordpress. So, just based on market share, Wordpress is dominant, however...

As we think of promoting WA and encourage new members to join the platform, would it make sense to tell them that even if they don’t want to use Wordpress, they are welcome to the WA community?

Considering that there are 65% of websites owners not using Wordpress, it is not a group we want to ignore.

I feel that the membership price is definitely worth it even if they don’t buy their domains and host their websites at WA and use some other website builder.

In my opinion, the training and the community alone are worth the price.

Any thoughts here?

Great post!
For now WP suits me, but maybe my next website will be on another platform. Just to see if there are more features.

Ingrid

Wordpress is the platform for me as well. As we interact with other WA members, we need to be aware that they may be using other platforms, and that's Ok.

Thank you for stopping by.

Enjoy your Saturday, Ingrid!

Jose

Calculate the Cost (Uh, yeah, I'm going to reprint this as a post!)

$17.50 for one (1) Wix site (low compared to other non-Wordpress sites)
vs
$50 for fifty (50) sites at WA. (Math is math!)

Still, I agree with Jose...

1. Yes, there's room for those who deviate and use those lesser more expensive cookie cutter sites.
2. Yes, the mentoring, training AND business community is worth it, even if you don't use Wordpress.

Yet again (and more)...

I have learned that when being mentored in a particular field by successful leadership, it is best to empty the cup and allow it to be filled afresh. So, as for me, I have decided to use my 20-plus years in business as a reference only for now, while following the training in detail. (Later, after succeeding wildly, I can reassess. Right?)

All that (and I know this is a lot for a reply), I AM excited to see that some of our business partners are mixing things up a bit! May they take the same time, as Jose, to give feedback on their progress, while still respecting the process used in the mainstream of WA. (I'm sure even Kyle and Carl, like me, are still willing to evolve where possible, eh?)

P.S. (One more thing):
Hey Nathaniel, a.k.a. Big Nate (my WA Ambassador), you were right when you told me, "Even Wix has software that needs to be learned [ so why not take the time to master Wordpress]" Ah... thy grasshopper's kung fu grows daily, while getting a rush learning a new skill, and soon I shall grab the pebble from your hand. (Hahaha .. sorry if you're too young to get the reference.)

'Nuff said! Bottomline: it's so great NOT to be in business alone. Let's keep the dialogues going. :-)

(1.5 months - still in training - taking it all in - one carefully chewed bite at a time - so I can be a bigger buffed business man, LOL together!)

Thank you for the thorough reply, Abel! It's definitely better to choose Wordpress within WA. I'm totally with you on chewing bite at a time. I'm still training myself :-)

Have a great weekend!

Jose

Whoa! So I got Jose in my classroom! I am DEFINITELY going to win!

Have a blessed weekend, my brother! Your post definitely got me off to a great start in mine!

I use WordPress here at WA, but all my other sites (hosted elsewhere) are not WordPress.

Personally I prefer my other sites as I can do far more with them without searching for hours for a theme that fits.

Derek

So, this is what I was wondering. You are an example of someone who uses other web building platforms but is happy being a member of Wealthy Affiliate. I'm sure there are many more. The two things are not incompatible necessarily.

Thank you for replying.

Jose

I find what I learn here to be very useful when preparing some of my other websites.
