I made $1,679 (1st Quarter 2020)

Yes, I made $1,679 in 3 months, but it is not what you think.

Let me explain.

Since I "retired" from my main occupation (Banking compliance and audit), I decided to become an entrepreneur like all of us here. I set up the following income goals:

I want to achieve these income goals no matter what. So, I set up a strategy that I think is going to work for me.

I need to make these financial goals directly with my website and Youtube channel or by making money with "gig economy" type of jobs.

To make it interesting, I decided I can't be hired as an employee. Whatever I do, I have to be treated as an independent contractor.

It would be very easy for me to be hired by a bank and achieve these income goals with a few hours a week. I have already done that; I want a different challenge now.

If you think these gig economy type jobs are a waste of time, I disagree for two reasons:

1) They are the main topic of my website and Youtube channel

2) They are really going to motivate me to work hard on the site and Youtube channel because I don't want to have to make all this money 3 years from now working only on gigs.

I want to post quarterly reports here and ask you to please help me keep honest and motivated. We all have different ways to stay motivated. I think this will work for me.

Income From Gigs and Side Hustles–$1,679

This is proof that I met my quarterly income goal. I need about $1,250 per quarter to meet the 2020 annual goal.

I made most of the money from 3 platforms:

• Field Agent: $884

• Amazon Mechanical Turk: $398

• Prolific: $244 (212*1.15-Pounds to dollars exchange rate)

Blog Progress-$0

There is very little traffic coming to the blog at this point because it is very new and has just a few pages. A year or two from now, this will not be an excuse anymore :-) My goal is to publish at least 1 post per week. I know that's little, but that's the rhythm I'd like to start with.

Youtube Channel Progress-$0

In addition to publishing one blog post per week, my goal is to also publish one Youtube video per week. There are currently 13 videos and 7 subscribers. I get about one visitor every two days. Pathetic, but I think expected. Again, two years from now, I'd like to see a different graph.
