An Amazing Community
Where do I even start?
When I first found Wealthy Affiliate, it was at a low time in my life. I was divorced in January 2018 and moved back to my small home town in Alabama.
I got a receptionist job at a vet clinic that paid $8 per hour. With 2 children aged 4 and 5 at the time, that was difficult. I was able to find another job as a Quality Control Inspector at a cabinetry manufacturer paying $10 per hour, which increased to $12 after 90 days.
If you've never worked in quality, I will just tell you, it is an absoulte headache. I was miserable, depressed, angry, and more exhausted than ever.
I started online career courses and got halfway through my school with a consistent 4.0. Aced all of my exams and thought I was finally getting somewhere. Until....I joined a facebook page looking for more information about my career choice.
People that had been in the profession for years, even 20+ years are getting laid off and losing work, getting pay cuts, etc. Why? Technology is taking away their jobs. Voice recognition technology has made it unnecessary for doctors to have transcribers.
I quit school, had a breakdown after I left work, went straight to my doctor to see if I could have something to get me through my depression and anxiety until I could at least find another job.
I continued searching online for jobs and was so desperate to find something from home so I could be with my children. I came across Wealthy Affiliate. Roope's page inspired me and I started my free trial saying 'at least there's nothing to lose from trying."
It took a while since I was working nearly 60 hours a week, and had kids to care for and still need my sleep. But, I followed the steps and here I am.
I woke up to an email the other morning that my website had been indexed with Google. I was excited to see progress!
This community is so supportive and I love how it feels like we are all a team. I have been busy so I haven't written anything in a few days, but just having that email brightened my day. I want to succeed and I believe I can. I also believe that you can as well. We can all be successful if we put in the work to get there.
Thank you to any of you that have commented on my posts or page, or have even just taken the time to look at my page. From the bottom of my heart, thank you.

Sometimes good things happen that you don't expect - things you did not even think of. I have been in your shoes. My kids are now grown and I'm still here too. We came through.
Hang in there, Jordyn. If you ever need anything, please ask.
