How Important Is It To Keep Focused When Working On Your Internet Marketing Business?
Hello,
I have just got home after a long day at work, checked my mailbox and found that my friend Morninbrd has just posted a new new post entitled "So I had a blow up over my niche today" , read it at:

That post made me think about focus and what I use to remain focused for long periods of time.
There are several tricks you can use to keep in focus.
Here are some that work for me now and have worked for me in the past.
1) Listen to soft lounge music when working (it cuts out a bit of the normal neighborhood surrounding sounds and helps you to stay focused)
2) Before you start working, do a small affirmation session such "I want to ...<action you desire to accomplish - (for example write a post, do keyword search, find graphics for a post, make quality posts such as this one to practice your writing skills) >... "
Some good examples would be "I want to write an article on sailing in the next 45 minutes", "I want to find 20 good keywords to write articles on"
Let me give you some examples of do's first and don'ts later
- I want to be rich - Good
- I can achieve anything I set my mind to do - Good
Now, let's look at bad examples for affirmations:
- I can't fail - BAD - You mind will interpret it as - I CAN FAIL - It drops the " 't "
- I don't want to be poor - BAD - Again, Your mind will interpret it as I DO WANT TO BE POOR
Note: An affirmation has to be positive in nature as the mind cannot get around words such as "No", "Can't", "Don´t"
Affirmations can be compared to prayers, enough times repeated will change your way of thinking and in the case of religion it will heighten your faith.
Thus, before starting a work session, repeat out loud the affirmation you designed for the purpose of the task at hand for about 5 minutes and repeat whenever you remember it whilst you are working.
At the end of the session, review if you have achieved the task you set out to do, make notes if you do not achieves and reasons why when it is still fresh (to review later)
With any new skill, it may take some time to tune your mind to work this way but with time you will find that you become better disciplined at completing the tasks within the allocated time you set for them.
Set definite time goals to aim for, I would recommend 45 minutes or less to complete a task, avoid going over the 45 mins at 1 straight sitting because after that period your mind begins to wonder thus your focusing ability is shot!

Key to this business is staying motivated because your boss isn't looking over your shoulder and there are theoretically no deadlines. Positive affirmations are a must. You hit it spot on!
Great post. Affirmations should be used in the past tense, as though you have already accomplished it. "I make $4000 a week on my site."
Fake it till you make. Your subconscious won't know. Good luck.

At this stage I was only working on using affirmations to get the mind focused enough to work without wandering all over the place.
The concept you are discussing is the manifestation stage whereby you affirm in the past tense to manifest to your present.
Of course one can apply both techniques at once, manifestation and use affirmations as vehicle to convey the manifestation message.
My reply may seem a bit confusing to some but I am that you, FFMktg, get the gist of it.
