Building Blocks of Knowledge

Stop telling yourself "I'm not a techy!" You've heard the phrase, you are what you eat. If you keep making that face, it will stay like that. These are cliches of course many of us hear growing up. These are hyperboles, but I use the to show there is some truth to the self-negating phrases we tell ourselves. The I can't do thats, or no I can't get up in front of people. If we tell ourselves anything long enough, it will be a mindset I didn't say it will become true, because most likely, it wasn't true to begin with. So, since I started my journey here with WA, and I do see it as I do all things in my life as a journey, Kyle has emphasized that the tech element has been removed. But in my mind it wasn't. And I couldn't decided why that voice kept telling myself, "I'm not a techy." The voice was really saying you aren't a techy, so you don't have the ability to really do this. When I really figured out what the voice meant, I knew I could do something about it. I knew Kyle was right about the technical element having been removed. So what was my problem. Was I intimidated when I didn't understand the ease at which other people discussed things, yes. Had I forgotten the basic learning process that accompanies all elements of learning, yes. And that is the Building Blocks of Knowledge. This is true of the infant entering the world or the child learning to read and vast other learning journeys. I think back and know that this or nothing else will ever be the hardest learning experience of my life. As a sergeant in the army, I was selected to go to the Defense Language Institute in Monterey, CA, My ability scores were the highest in the military, so that gave me a false sense of the ease I would face. The classes were 8-4 M-F. The first three weeks I felt like I had been dropped in the twilight zone. I did hours of homework per night. I practiced the words aloud. But the teachers mostly spoke Russian to us, and others seemed to understand and I sat with swirly circles in my eyes, almost physically paralyzed. But every day, without fail, I worked, I practiced, I studied, and one day in class, they played this difficult passage. Everyone sat there paralyzed, and only I raised my hands and I understood everything in the passage. Everyone in the class looked at me, swirly eyes, paralyzed. By following the building blocks of knowledge, the most difficult thing in the world, learning 5,000 + words of a functioning military based foreign language as an adult as possible. If that is possible, learning how to build SEO driven websites that are attractive and ranked high on google is possible. It is possible to learn how to attain 300+ affiliated and go to Las Vegas. It is possible to learn all the steps to have a 6 plus figures income. I may not be a techy, but I can definitely follow the building blocks set forth by Kyle. And so can you! Do not SELF DEFEAT!! SELF COMPLETE your journey!

The fear we have of something we don't understand is completely made up, it is natural and we all have it. Best thing is that we can easily overcome it with hard work and routine every day.

The pain that we get from knowing we never gave it a shot is what will truly last a lifetime.

Everybody has a first day, even those at the top!

"Do not SELF DEFEAT!! SELF COMPLETE your journey!"

what a powerful message, Jolyn! I can't even count the number of times I felt the need to "confess" that I am not a techie! But you are absolutely right, if I keep putting that into the Universe, I can't expect to increase my knowledge.

our words are powerful, what we speak to the world, to others, our kids, it says who we are what we allow, our self speak is huge to our success. We can be non techy sisters who rock out with success!!!
