Characters And Trademarks - Best Practices
Howdy Folks;
I've been thinking (can you smell it?) about Print On Demand products and the quotes/sayings that go on them.
Can you, for example have a saying on a mug or t-shirt like "I smell like a lying Pinocchio" or "My Love Life Is A Mission Impossible"
What, I think, I'm trying to say is whether it is legal to allude to characters, films, tv series etc. without falling foul of any legal aspect that would result in a "cease and desist" attorney letter?
Obviously, I wouldn't include any bespoke imagery or stills from a film - just mentioning the character or program title or a particular trait of said character.
Thanks for any input.

I'm not sure, but it is a good question, and so I'm hanging around to see what answers you might get, John! IMHO, I would say it is alright, but I'm still curious!
Jeff
I'd agree with you Jeff, but these attorneys can be cussed creatures
Well, John, As Shakespeare said in one of his plays (I forget which), "First, Let's Kill all the Lawyers!"
Jeff
Henry V! part 2, act four, I think
Ah, thank you for that, John!
