Ah yeah! 4:00 AM Saturday morning and I'm up to do my half day at work just to have my health insurance. If I weren't working and had to pay full premium for my insurance, I would be broke in a few years.
I had an episode with my heart in October of 2012 and again in January of 2013 the two days I spent in the hospital for the second episode cost around $27000.00. Without insurance, a few stays in the hospital, my life's savings would be wiped out with those kind of charges.
Fortunately I only have a few more months before retiring, but I've discovered one thing about working a boring job. If I had to do the same thing over and over day in and day out I would go stark crazy.
When there's a place like WA giving help to anyone who's willing to help themselves, why people continue this for years for a token of pay is nuts.
As a business owner I paid my employees money needed to pay their bills and live a comfortable life. I knew if they were worried about paying bills their concentration would not be on their job and my business would suffer.
