About JohnPAlex
Joined May 2017
As an ER nurse of many years, I was searching for something to do before I retired that would continue to make money and allow my wife to be at home with me to enjoy retirement and still allow us to do the things we enjoy doing.

In December 2017 I was diagnosed with Prostate Cancer. After a total personal melt down and coming to the realization I didn't feel like leveraging the time I had left working for someone else. I've only ever been truly happy working for myself even if for less money at times. I retired and let my license go.

I'll concentrate on having more fun, building the plane, piddle around the house (wait till you see that one).

After a complete prostatectomy April 12, 2018, an exacerbated old injury (broken neck, more than once) flares up and brings all my fun to a stop. Wait, not all my fun. I can still work on the computer.

Now I'm back. It's fun to see the ones I left a year ago become so successful in just the last year.

I am building an airplane in my garage that I hope to complete within the next few years. This will allow us to travel more freely without all the hassles of commercial flight and my wife's JOB.

An Airplane in the garage, WOW! My dad builds radio controlled airplanes in the garage but something tells me that isn't what you are building! I had to let my professional PT license go about 2 years ago after trying to maintain it for 10 years while on disability. I've been looking for something ever sense. I HOPE THIS IS IT!!

I had to discover your bio too.

Is your garage that big?

The following is for both of you until the plane is finished.

Do you know Daniel Golla? I wanted to put the video here but it says it cannot contain the parameters.

It is a coincidence, but I just saw his show last Saturday.

Actually N,
-the wings ( 12ft long + a few inches by 4ft wide),
-main spar ( runs through the fuselage and the wings attach to it roughly 8 inch rectangle 15ft long )
-Canard ( front wing 15ft long )
-wing tips
All hanging in our living room. The fuselage is in the garage under construction. I'm preparing to put the nose on the plane, which the nose retractable landing gear.
John

P.S. Oh yes, the garage is a two car and stay full of airplane and tools, and dust.

Big boys need Big projects. You have done well to find yours.

Building your plane should be an excellent exercise to benefit your focus.

Forget a few seemingly unimportant parts can mean a long stay in the clouds, and not to forget the long walk back home! ... lol ...

I used to jump out of them in my youth.

Keep me updated on your progress.

Hi John. So nice to meet you. I enjoyed reading your interesting bio. As a former health care professional (occupational therapist) who can no longer work and have also let my license go, I can certainly relate to your desire to make money! You've come to the right place.

I, too, have not been very active the last half of 2018 due to preparation, sale of my house and downsizing from a 2/2 house to a 2/2 apartment with very little storage. My spare bedroom/office is still full of boxes that I have to sort/downsize some more, and get rid of stuff. I have my office area finished, but still have a wall of boxes behind me that I gotta get rid of or find a home for in my apartment. That, plus worsening fibromyalgia symptoms has more or less brought my progress to a halt. I have managed to keep up with the community part of the time, though.

Oh, I almost forgot to thank you for following me back. Oops!

Best wishes as you begin your journey toward that illusive goal once more! Let's DO this in 2019.

Robert,
I have people who are watching me. if I wait till the auto response slow motion lesson, these people will not pay any attention to what I wish to share with them. Why is not some of the important sideline activities not taken care of before the site construction? Tell the newbies (me) that this is for future reference; just like I had to relearn where to fine images. So this is how you set up your auto response when you are ready for it?
I was auto responded by my lead before I knew who he was (thanksfamilyman82)(I still find it hard there is only 82 familyman) You do not send your progeny off to do battle without knowing how to. I want to build a site, right? we aren't taught in advance how to answer the queries. It's just dumb luck that we get anyone in the beginning. But if we do get someone, we loose them because we weren't given the tools to care for them. They are my collateral loses, and I do not want my loved ones to be collateral Iosses. inform all that follow they should adhere to the lessons and tasks.
I just realized this is more a blog,
Thanks Robert,
John

Sue and I thank you for your following. My area of competence in aviation was in the flying end. I have the highest respect for someone who can build things. If I can't fix something with a hammer, I can't fix it.

Best wishes for great success.

That's awesome John! I built an airplane back in 1994-1995 and flew it for 2 years. It was a blast to own and fly. Family and work made me put my dream of a fast sport plane on hold, now WA may revive those dreams!
Welcome you are in the right place. Thanks for the follow.

I just love lists:) It has been very helpful to a lot of people. I have listed them in one blog you can find on my profile.
