Hey guys, I need a hand, please. I finally have background pictures for my website but is annoying me that the text is not that visible over the picture. How chance my articles

Hi there,

When you're adding text over a background image that has varying colours (as yours does) you really need to look for the element (div) that contains all that text and give it a plain background colour. Then you need to give it some opacity.

That will make reading the text much easier, while still giving an impression of the background image.

This is completely doable in the Customise tab at the bottom of the Appearance > Customise screen.

I could show you an example but I cannot put a link here, so if you would like to see what I mean PM me and I'll give you a link that shows what I mean.

However, from the image above, it seems that you're placing the background image behind all the content on each page, and that would actually degrade the reading experience.

Placing text over a background image in the header can be very effective but, ideally, you want the background to your main content to be completely plain so the reader is not distracted.

Cheers,

Martin.

Thank you, I just send you a PM.

As I mentioned in Live Chat, you will want to adjust the image settings before you upload the image. You can use a program such as Photoshop / GIMP or you can use Canva.

Now that I see the screenshot, you have dark and light colours, so yes, although the statement above is still true, as you have solid black in the image, you will want to change your text colour to white (or a lighter colour).

Depending on your theme, you can do this from Appearance -> Customise, or you may need to add custom CSS.

Thank you, I was away for a while and I missed your reply in the live chat. Thank you I will give a try to see what I can do.
Thank you for replying to me

NEW REPLY:
I can't find the option to do it. The CSS menu is empty for me.
Should I contact support for a matter like this ??

You can try, but they don't tend to assist with Design issues, only technical issues.
