Website and Writing Update: Back to Building with Purpose

Long before leaving Juba, I found the time and a quiet place to sit down and review all 700 articles I had published between 2018 and 2026. Those articles survived many changes, from moving my website from Bluehost to Wealthy Affiliate, to periods when the site went offline and came back online again.

After reviewing everything, I reached a difficult but necessary conclusion. Most of those articles were too general and no longer relevant to my current niche: Remote Work Tools and Software, together with my philosophy of life and work. They covered too many unrelated subjects, and many of them had generated zero traffic over the past years.

The best decision was to remove them completely, including their featured media and images. That process reduced my website to just 98 published articles. I also deleted and cleaned up the 15 scheduled posts that were planned for 2026.

It was not an easy decision, but I believe it was the right one.

Now that I have arrived back at my workplace in Nairobi and have my Wi-Fi connection restored, I am focused on rebuilding. I am rewriting every published article to make sure the content truly matches the title, URL slug, search intent, and the latest SEO, AEO, GEO, or whatever search optimization evolves into next. Search engines continue to change, and if we want our work to remain visible, we have to adapt rather than fall behind. I am already about halfway through rewriting the remaining articles.

Alongside the website, I have another major project. I have already completed the manuscripts for four separate book series, each containing ten books. This month my goal is to edit, design, format, convert, and publish all of them.

There are a few technical obstacles along the way. My ChatGPT Go subscription is currently affected by an expired payment card. My replacement card requires a verification code that never arrives, either by email or phone. I'll visit my bank soon to resolve the issue. I have grown to appreciate ChatGPT Plus, even though it is becoming a significant monthly expense when combined with rent, Wi-Fi, food, and other living costs. I will review my options, but Plus is still the package that best fits my work, especially for writing, image generation, book cover design, and Amazon A+ Content, which I have yet to begin using for my books.

Amazon KDP is also experiencing a publishing workflow issue at the moment. Some books are failing to publish because of this bug. Hopefully, that will be resolved soon, as it affects authors who are ready to release their work.

This morning reminded me that work also requires taking care of the body. After a good night's rest, I woke up with a sharp pain in my lower left leg. It felt as though a tendon or muscle had tightened unexpectedly. Fortunately, after some self-massage, the pain eased, and I was able to get back to work.

So, I am back where I belong: writing, rebuilding, and creating.

Sometimes progress means creating something new. At other times, it means having the discipline to remove what no longer serves your purpose, adapt to changing technology, and keep moving forward despite unexpected setbacks.
