A New Month, A New Focus

Today is 1 August, and it marks the beginning of another chapter in my online business journey.

As some of you already know, I recently downgraded my Wealthy Affiliate membership from Premium Plus+ back to Premium for the next year. This wasn't because I was giving up. It was a business decision.

After spending a full year on Premium Plus+, I didn't receive any referral upgrades. Most of my earnings came from the Reward Program, while my Google AdSense traffic, affiliate commissions, and Amazon book sales haven't yet reached the level I hoped for.

Instead of walking away, I decided to reduce my costs while keeping what matters most: my website.

My website remains the center of everything I do. It allows me to:

1. Promote Wealthy Affiliate to future members.
2. Publish articles that continue building Google AdSense traffic.
3. Market my growing catalog of Amazon books.
4. Recommend affiliate products and services I personally use.
5. Offer my language, IT, website, and publishing services to clients.

This month also represents a turning point for me personally.

My original Plan A was to pursue a master's degree at Renmin University of China. I'm still waiting to hear from SAQA regarding the verification of my bachelor's degree, which is required for admission. Since August has arrived without that confirmation, I can't simply wait.

So, I'm moving ahead with Plan B.

Next week I'll be travelling to Nairobi to focus fully on growing my publishing business. The work has already begun. My goal is simple: publish more high-quality books, improve my existing catalog, strengthen my author platform, and build a business that doesn't depend on one income source.

One lesson I've learned over the years is this:

Sometimes success isn't about choosing between two dreams. It's about continuing with the one that is already within your reach while preparing for the one you're still waiting for.

If Plan A opens, I'll gladly walk through that door.

If not, Plan B is already creating opportunities.
