One Year Later: Why I Chose to Downgrade, Not Give Up

Dear WA family...

Today I made a business decision.

After one full year as a Wealthy Affiliate Premium Plus+ member, I've decided to downgrade to the Premium plan when my current subscription renews on 30 July.

This wasn't an easy decision, but it was the right one.

Over the past year, I gave Premium Plus+ my best effort. I published more than 700 articles, continued growing my author website, promoted my books, and shared opportunities through affiliate marketing. While I earned through the Reward Program, I didn't receive any Premium Plus referral upgrades, and my website traffic still isn't high enough to generate consistent Google AdSense income. I also haven't seen the level of affiliate or book sales I had hoped for.

Rather than seeing that as failure, I see it as feedback.

Running an online business means making wise decisions with the resources you have. The Premium plan gives me what I need to keep my website online, continue serving my readers, publish new content, and keep building my long-term vision while reducing my monthly costs.

Interestingly, I renewed my membership using income from a client who trusted me to renew their website hosting, domain name, and maintenance services. That reminded me that every honest piece of work matters, and that building a sustainable business often happens one client, one book, one article, and one decision at a time.

I'm not leaving Wealthy Affiliate. I'm simply choosing the plan that best fits where I am today.

The mission remains the same.

I'll continue writing, publishing books, helping clients, building my website, and sharing what I learn along the way. Success rarely comes overnight. It comes from showing up consistently, learning from the results, adjusting when necessary, and refusing to quit.
