First Blood

Hi, it's John again. Bloodied from my first foray into the detailed world of Wealthy Affiliate.

When told to create my first website, I tread confidently where "Angels fear to tread", thinking it would be a walk in the park.

How mistaken!

First off: I have been developing my amateur websites in the past, using wix.com. My! Did they look good!!! And all with just a GUI and fully customisable screens, widget, everything! Now, I have a new learning curve and I wonder how I will learn,

WordPress is not your average walk in the park!!

Now, I am hearing and reading of stuff that I have no idea about, clicking on images that in my limited experience with the other program, would have giving me spaceship commander level of control and....nothing happens.

And then there are the waves after waves of information and instructions!

To say i am overwhelmed would be an understatement.

Well, finally, I have to wave my first white flag. I surrender! I need HELP!!!!!!

So here I go asking my first question as a Premium member (sheepishly. LOL).

Will keep you posted.

John

just take it 1 step at a time

I assume that you are still struggling with sizing and positioning your image

first, have you uploaded it to your media

then, in you page/post, before you click on the "Add Media" button, make sure your cursor is positioned by the text that you want the image to be related to

(once you become experienced, you will be able to position your image from within the 'text' tab instead of the 'visual' tab)

you can size your image by clicking on the corner boxes and dragging to the size you desire

hope this helps

Thanks for the helpful hints. Now, it seems I am gradually getting the hang of things. Still some way off, but getting there surely.

I changed my theme to one by Customizr and that in combination with your advice, I've moved forward.
