SOMETIMES I FIND LIFE ABSOLUTELY AMAZING AND BEAUTIFUL

Just the other day, the other day being Thursday 1/21/2021, I was released from Hugley Hospital located in Crowley Texas which is surrounded more or less by Fort Worth. I entered said hospital on New Years Day 1/1/2021 as an emergency patient.

My major complaint other than feeling horrible was severe stomach pain which came on abruptly the day after Christmas. Immediately I was given the COVID-19 test then poked and jabbed as doctors do all the while responding to a myriad of questions.

Once all the physical contact was completed I was given urine and blood test then given this horrid concoction of Mylox and some other drug to swallow that was supposed to help relieve the pain in my poor poor gut but alas to no avail was it successful.

I was taken down this long hall to x-ray where I was given the famous CT-SCAN or more commonly known as the CAT-SCAN. It is a circular drum that they run your entire body thru and it tells you to hold your breath then breath at certain times, all the while making a horrendous roaring racket. In and out you go several times until you are almost deaf.

Upon my return from the CAT-SCAN, I was quickly poked with another needle but this time it stayed in. I soon discovered my visit to the hospital was going to become a bit lengthy, for just how long remained yet unknown, gosh darn I had no idea what was terrorizing me yet and making me feel like I have been run over by several trucks but I knew I was there to stay.

One doctor did visit me and told me so far they knew I had a serious Bladder infection and more than likely passed a Kidney stone which I had many of plus I was on a strong antibiotic IV. A nurse came in after him and rocked my world with the announcement that I had COVID.

I was notified I would not be receiving any serum when I asked but that they had taken enough of my blood to develop the anti-serum like the president got if it was necessary to inject me. My immediate response was to inject me anyway I got it do I not? That argument got me nowhere and for the remaining 3 weeks, I sleep 80% of the time only because they bothered me the rest of the time.

My other problems were serious Kidney infections more or less caused by the lovely COVID virus and the most seriously painful event I have experienced in years. I had fluid thanks to COVID in my left Lung which had to be drained and checked for infection.

They administer a local anesthetic prior to tapping your Lung which is like taking aspirin before someone hits you on the hand with a 5LB hammer. Trust this old quadriplegic I hollered, screamed, cried real tears the entire 5 minutes, it hurt.

The 3 weeks were tough, trust me with COVID every food item tastes horrible even water. Somehow I survived and at times I had my doubts but I prayed and the worst part was they were unable to contact my family, none of my friends knew of my plight, I had to bear my living hell alone.

I pray none of you readers ever suffer my experience, the illness was tough, fighting death from your door tougher but going it absolutely alone makes it almost unbearable.

That is why I find life so amazing, I was not alone, the lord was holding my hand all the time. I have that survival will I am blessed with, I can meet any challenge just toss it my way. WA is just one of the many challenges we will face in life, trust in my words when I tell you it is but an easy one so no excuses for quitters.

Beautiful I also mentioned well it is because we all get to share this wonderful WA challenge together.

Hello Joe,

So many thanks to share your story. I was there with my husband and our two sons in March 2020. And it was a nightmare. As you say it is just beautiful to have survived. Even though, as long term patients, the symptoms haven't left us, we are accepting meanwhile to live with the damages.

We are not alone in this wonderful family, this gives immense strength.

Wishing you a good recovery,

Warmly,
Anne

Anne, bless you for your understanding and good wishes it is wonderful to hear that you also have recovered and are doing well. I know God has your hand as well as mine keep up your wonderful positive attitude and again thank you for your wonderful comment.

Joe

Thank God you go through COVID safely. God holding our hand is important not to give up any hope. Your sharing experience is helpful to me.
I will use a mask always and stay away from people who are talkative in public. Anyway, it is an easier way than to fight COVID if infected.

I still wear a mask, stay 6 feet apart and stay away from talking to people too close. I had it can still get it again and I can spread it, so I take all the precautions I am not a fool. I want to live a longer happier life and see the spring flowers bloom and see the leafs next fall and say hoo hoo hoo.

Joe

I hope you get well very soon and live longer.

I have recovered pretty much about 70% already and only the Lord knows about how long I shall live but thank you for your good wishes.

Had to reread this several times to make sure that I truly understood. Wow! Thank you for sharing your harrowing experience with us Joe. I wish you good health and I have a renewed appreciation for my own health. You have provided a bit of a perspective shift and new appreciation for what we have today.

Thank you Joe,
Chris

Chris, thank you for your terrific comment.

Hey Joe, I wish I had known. I would definitely have put a prayer out there for you. I am thinking about you and am praying for a full recovery.

As far as a family member not being notified, you may want to keep something handy where first responders or health care workers can help you out with that.

Looking forward to seeing more from you here now that you are back at it.

I wish you well,
Bob

Bob, things don't always work out as you hope but thank you so much for your good wishes.

Joe

You must have felt my energy. I've been thinking about you the last few days wondering what was going on. Boy, can't leave you alone for a minute before you get in trouble!!!!

Seriously, I'm glad you're better and sorry you had to go through all that but I have to admit that I'm not surprised that you kicked all of it. When the going gets tough, the tough get going and you certainly fit that bill!!!!!!!

Now, take care of yourself.................and please stay out of trouble. lol

Good to hear from you. Thanks for keeping us posted.
