Do you have a Growth Mindset?

I was reading my latest book "I Wish My Teacher Knew" and it had a chapter on Mindsets in the Classroom. I teach Growth Vs. Fixed Mindsets in my classroom, but it really applies to all of us here at Wealthy Affiliate!

A growth mindset allows us to believe that we can improve both our abilities and our intelligence. What do you hear through your self talk? I have heard myself both ways, "This is difficult, am I ever going to make money?" and I have also hear myself say "I can do this, work hard and see benefits down the road." Your positive self talk can lead you to success just as negative self talk can lead to failure.

Here are some things to remember when striving to keep a growth mindset:

1. Listen to how your mindset is expressed internally and whether it is positive or not. If you recognize that you are thinking with a fixed mindset, re-word those thoughts!

2. Actively talk to yourself using the growth mindset. You can do this in your head or out loud. You can apply the growth mindset as you write your goals as well.

3. Put your growth mindset words into actions. If you have stated "I can do this," then do it! Don't procrastinate. I have found this is to be a struggle, but maybe it's just because of the fear of failure. If you don't succeed the first time, try it again and the feeling of success is even greater!
