On listening to friends and taking advice
Hey y'all!
So yesterday I pointed a good friend to my site. I was excited to hear his opinon because A) he would not lie to me and just tell me it looks good if it didn't, and B) he is definitely part of my niche's customer base!
I was quite excited because he liked it and thought it looked really nice. However, he suggested I change the domain name.
Quick backstory - When I started here I already had a domain name (myname.com), so I just put my site on there.
So my friend suggested I change the domain name to the Site's name (Spit Talking). I said I understood but that keywords were the main thing so it didn't really matter.
Then I slept on it, and realized he was right, that it would make my site look more cohesive and legit. So I bought my domain name in the morning and instantly moved my site over. WA made it very easy, and once I updated my info on Google/Bing webmaster tools and my affiliate links, it was good to go. It even got indexed almost instantly!
So this is my new site, spittalking.com. Well the same site with a better domain name. I'm glad I listened to my friend and realized he would only tell me something if it was something I needed to hear. Anyways I just posted comparing a song by Frank Ocean "Crack Rock" to "Like a Rolling Stone". Some of you might find it interesting :)
Anyways, I guess the moral of the story is listen to and trust the people who are only trying to help you, even if it makes a little more work.

This is what is so great about this site. You can ask for opinions and you will get honesty. It is a great way to get different views from your own and usually they are right and you do need to make some changes that will only benefit you. Nice blog! :)
I totally agree, I think that's what makes WA stand out so much. Nearly everyone here is willing to drop what they're doing and help whoever needs it. And sometimes it's hard to remember that fresh opinions might be better than even your own! Thanks, I'm glad you liked it :)
