Gee! Before getting into rest of my level, I've just discovered having a domain in "dashes" is not good. I purchased one before coming to this level--with dashes: its-in-the-w

It is not wrong to do, just not suggested as it can hurt discoverability a bit.

Just think of it naturally, if you audibly told someone your page they may go to a web browser and type in itsinthewater com.

Then you have to go back and tell them, "oh yea, be sure to put the dashes"

it's like having a difficult last name that you always have to spell... it gets annoying. lol

Makes sense... wonder if siterubix would credit me toward another/change?

if you purchased the domain, than you are stuck with it. the only way out is to just by another domain.

Buying a domain is like buying a house... if you went through the hole process of buying a house... then wanted to give it back the next day after purchase probably wouldnt be that easy...

Sad to say, you will either need to stick with it or buy another domain. Only good thing is that it is not that expensive.

Would another purchase switch over to same site that easily? I guess I need to contact support on this.

it woudl be a separate purchase. Then you would have to move your site from the old domain to the new.

If you already have a ton of stuff on it, def contact support, i believe they can do it in the back end more quickly.

Thank you... got to thinking, and gonna try using the domain as is, at least for awhile just to see how it'll do. I can always use a card to direct someone (LOL). Anyway! Thank you for your input... hey, am following you! :)

No problem. In the future if you ever did want to make the switch, you could just own two domains and redirect. Some companies own the misspelled version of their sites so that when people use common misspellings it still directs them to the correct site.

Now, that's a good idea :)

For instance, let's say our niche is in cars (not new, but just an example), and you apply for affiliate to multiple car companies (is that wise?). And then list each of their

There is no limit.

Thank you :)

H's solution is best Jan. Single but separate inside!

Makes sense... thank you :)

I would think as long as you have permission meaning you are an affiliate member with these companies then you can promote as many company as you so choose. Create your position as being the top affiliate in that niche and you become sought after without looking. hope that helped.

Yes, due to submitting affiliate applications, its form usually ask how is/are their company/products going to be used (regarding placed upon our/aff's website, advertising, etc.), I've then thought to mention something in the form of, 'their products will be promoted along w/ others'; and this way, if they/company feels uncomfortable about it, they'll inform me first off. This, just to be on the safe side; amen?

You CAN use multiple affiliates for a single site. However, I would do separate pages for each. Or, if they must be on the same page, list them in different sections. As long as their links get noticed and clicked, affiliates are happy.

For more information, you can check the affiliate agreements, but I haven't come across any guidelines stating otherwise. I wish you all the best! See you around!

Thank you... VERY informative :)

You're quite welcome!

My 'menus' won't go on my site - without the theme. I chose one, but the pic (for top page) isn't showing. Due to browsing the Appearance, it shows the theme/name, but it doesn

Okay.... now following the steps you've provided. Thank you! :) VERY helpful.

Okay... according to my end, the theme is active. And has 'customize' to it. Also, looks as if 'published' too. But it still doesn't show. Especially, doesn't if/when I try getting my menus listed. Guess try fooling w/ colors, etc. just to see if it'll/theme will come up. Anyone having problems w/ theme showing at your end, in the site manager?

In this case,
did you try to clear your browser cache? it could be your browser is showing you the cached older version of your site, it happens.

Safari

Explorer

there could be server side caching or wordpress plug in cache but probably is just the browser cache.

Okay, ticked on Explorer's caching (clearing), but pic/theme still doesn't show. Gee, can't get any menus up... they have no where to go. Guess I'll need to contact site support.

I think I just saw a post from another WA member saying their post was not updating, it could be a site based delay. It happened to me in the past on sites hosted outside WA, e.g. Hostgator and other hosts, some time changes take time to propagate...

Sorry we didn't manage to get it going, I know it must be stressful, hopefully it will show up just fine within 24 hours...
But yes site support may be your best option at this point :)

Good luck :)

You're right; I can understand it can be a problem outside... but this is within the WA :) Okay, hopefully, WA support can help. Thank you, though, for your time! Very much appreciated :)

Hi,
Are you using a http://subdomin.siterubix.com or your own domain hosted at WA or other host?
Which theme are you using?

Remember to click on Publish anytime you make a change, for a theme you may have to click on the Blue Button "Activate & Publish" (at the top of the left menu-option bar in your admin theme options page)

Unless I didn't understand the problem correctly

Yes, I'm using the siterubix's but registered domain; I selected "Dazzling" theme from WA. Blue button, 'Activate & Publish'? Will have to take a look... Thank you. If I come across other questions.... hey, I'll be back! LOL

Some themes are buggy. You should probably find another theme I like ThemeGrill themes the best. They have great free and premium versions.

Hope this helps :)
