How Many Sites Can You Realistically Manage?
When you're just getting started, it might be tempting to select a niche, get a site going, and then a week later decide that you should have created a different site or a different niche because you got further in training and now you know more. Before you know it, you're juggling more than one site.
Has this ever happened to you or have you had thoughts of doing something like this?
Take it from me...
Ignore the urge and keep moving forward. As difficult as it may seem, it's better to keep going with your current site. You've put in a lot of thought and effort into that site, and likely some money if you've purchased a domain. Stick to it. Be diligent!
Table the other ideas you may have for some time in the future. Jot them down in a notebook or somewhere for future reference. I have a "notebook" in OneNote that I use for all my Affiliate-related thoughts.
As you can see from the image here, I have a lot of affiliate-style sites. Five to be exact. However, because I've jumped around, none of them are significant. Moreover, many of them are simply abandoned. I also have two other businesses that I run. They are of my own creation (non-affiliate). One is a brick-and-mortar style, and the other is freelance digital marketing. Yup! And I'm laughing at my own mistakes here. I should know better than to spread myself so thin. But when you manage website content and updates for other people for a living, trying to have several sites of your own doesn't seem so daunting. It feels exciting, actually! I truly thought I could do it. (I'm a very optimistic person.)
Don't be tempted to dip into too many niches at once...
If you spread yourself too thin before you get established, you'll have inferior results. The only way to succeed in the Affiliate Marketing world is to follow through and keep moving forward. Do your research. Go through the training and apply what you learn with perseverance, determination, intent, and passion and you'll find success!
After you have completed the initial site and training for one niche and you are to the point of just working on new content for it and promoting it, then you might be able to kick off another one.
Just be careful not to dive into too many projects at once, or you will become overloaded, overwhelmed and entirely unable to keep up. Find a single niche and stick to it. You'll beat the curve and find success if you do!
Picking Up the Pieces
I learned this the hard way and now I'm cleaning up my mess as I focus on just 2 sites. Two is plenty! Coincidentally, my traffic is up and the focused effort is starting to pay off. Not to mention I'm enjoying it more!!
I know now that if I ever want to maintain more than 2 sites, I'll need to hire help. Seriously. Without help the other sites would once again suffer. Don't spread yourself too thin and if you do, be prepared for the next phase in your business - hiring help!
Cheers, everyone! Stay focused! ;)

Hi!
Thanks for the advice, I totally agree don't put more on your plate then you can eat or you will be more overwhelm then you ever thought. When I joined Wealthy Affiliate I already had two sites with different niches needless to say at least one site was neglected. Now thankfully I'm able to give all my sites the attention they deserve so that I can grow my business. I still have at least one more website I want to create but I will wait for the right time with that one.

I agree! I have 2 but I had only one for the first several years here. I just started the second one this year. Since I started the second one, I have not spent much time on the first either. It is VERY hard to keep up with multiple sites if you work a regular job or have other responsibilities.
I am so glad I resisted the temptation to start a second site at first. It is hard enough now but if I had started a second one earlier I doubt I would have much success now.
Yes, I fall prey to the next "shiny" idea in my mind. Regaining focus has been really good for me. Difficult, but good. :)
Thank you for the information. I had been wondering when the time is right to create a new sight. Your words make sense.
I started with one and then got really excited about some other thoughts I had so I started others. I have since dialed it back to just keeping up with 2 of them (one being my brick-and-mortar business website) and I have found a lot better traffic and results because of it. Focus is important in this affiliate business.
