Hi, I use the plug in Mail Subscribe List. It's free and simple to set up. Hope this helps :)
It depends on your niche. If you don't fall foul of their exclusion list, you can start with free services such as MadMimi http://www.madmimi.com However, do check their excluded categories at https://madmimi.com/legal/terms as if you breach their terms they're likely to delete your lists without warning and threaten you with a $250 fine! There's training on setting up and using MadMimi here:
https://my.wealthyaffiliate.com/training/setting-up-a-free-mailing-list-with-madmimi Mailchimp http://www.mailchimp.com also offer a free service but again with similar excluded categories: http://mailchimp.com/legal/acceptable_use/ However, if you're promoting WA then you'll probably need a service such as AWeber http://aweber.com which has a month's trial at $1 and then $19 per month thereafter. :) Rich.
You can add an opt in form . search for a site which is free to start with . To build a subscriber list it is not a good idea to add an opt in in your blog posts - you can use Jetpack , it has an blog subscriber option. you can use that .
But i dont understand how you will ask others to opt in when no one knows where your blog is . To opt in you require traffic to your website . you dont use opt in to derive traffic . you use them to keep your traffic subscribe to what you are providing them .
if still you want to use opt in in your blog post then use a free opt in tool for your need . mail chimp is a good option, aweber is a 1 dollar trial so its worth testing it ,
hope it was helpfull.

My problem is that I am trying to get traffic to my site by blogging and then putting it on a forum. So I thought with an option to opt in for more information free information I may be able to get some email numbers and start building a list. My blog post is connected to my website so by blogging on forums I may find someone out there that may want more information for free. Does that make sense.
One of the best types of Opt-In forms you can get is the pop up opt-in, as you will find more people use this type of form. You can see this type of opt-in, as well as am on-page opt-in form here :- http://thehelpfulinternetmarketer.com/free-internet-marketing-course/ ... You need an Autoresponder to collect the email addresses. The one I've been using now for over 9 years is Aweber, who let you build the form from many templates and then generate the HTML code, which you paste into your Wordpress document where you want (In the text format, rather than visual) and voila - you now have an opt-in form, ready to start building your list. http://thehelpfulinternetmarketer.com/likes/aweber.php
Hi JM
If your useing a wordpress theme go to plugins (new) and put jetpack
Jetpack is a wordpress product and to activite it you need a wordpress.com account, once activated jetpack offers you a number of options including the one your after. Once you have it activated look above where the editing is done and you will see the button saying add contact. You can place it where ever you put the curers.
It will develop a hop in automatically.
Until I get some traffic and some email numbers I don't see why I would want to pay for an auto responder. If you read my new blog at http://learningtoearnathome.com/i-am-at-a-fork…es-the-traffic/ you will understand where I am coming from. I think that I will try mailchimp for now until I can build a list. Thanks edgie and Michelle12 for the help.
mailchimp lets you have upto 2,500 people sign up I believe. I only use Aweber because I signed up for another reason.
there is plug ins , I know there is one for aweber and one for mailchimp. what plug in you need depends on your auto responder account
As far as I know you will need another program to do this, I use Aweber which you need to pay for, but there is mailchimp which is free

I will be going away for awhile and it is unfeasible for me to stay with WA during that time. I am just wondering how I go about unsubscribing or putting my membership with WA o
To cancel your membership and stop billing you must login to your PayPal account and cancel the subscription. View the details for your subscription to "Wealthy Affiliate", and click "Cancel Subscription".
Your setting will remain however and you can resubscribe anytime. The only thing you will note a change in will be your rank, which will drop off. The rest will be intact, blogs, etc.
If you have any self-hosted websites on here (not SiteRubix) you will need to move those to another host as they will get deleted.
If you paid by debit or credit card, you can cancel in Account Settings in the main menu. If you paid with a PayPal balance, then cancel from within your PayPal account. You have 30 days to rejoin before any sites hosted with WA get deleted so you'll need to move them to another hosting service if you're going to be away longer than that. To rejoin, simply log back in to your current user account, pay again, and everything will be just as you left it. :) Rich.
I need to unsubscribe for a month or so. How do I go about that?

Hi Judy, and Happy New Year! Are you referring to your Wordpress blog, or your blog here at WA? I'm assuming WP since you posted in the "Everything Wordpress" section. :) Anyway, I've not had this happen personally, but I wonder if it could have something to do with your browser cache or something. Did you try closing your browser completely and then going back in?
I looked at your website, and it appears you might be hosting at GoDaddy, which could also explain where the ad in the widget came from. I'm currently seeing a GoDaddy ad in that widget, and I know that would never happen here if you were using WA hosting. Maybe GoDaddy puts that in by default on all their site templates. Which means you'd have to go in and manually remove it, or replace it with your own ad.
That's weird because I have no idea how that Go Daddy widget and ad could have got on your sidebar if you didn't put it there.
I put the Go Daddy ad on my website but the other one for the store was already in my widgets. I have no idea how it got there. I have replaced it with another ad. Not to worry though I have re-written my blog today and it is even better then the one I wrote yesterday. It is about life changes if you would like to read it go to http://learningtoearnathome.com/resolution-vacation/ Thanks for your help and concern.

GVO works well. Auto Responder about $10/month. Real easy to use!
