A Quest to Query by Quick Questionnaires!
After being offline for several months (for personal reasons) I am back and with a newfound library of knowledge, advice, and ideas.
One of the major pieces of advice that I found to be extremely helpful was that of questionnaires. You wouldn't believe how many people miss out on this opportunity to gather information for free! Humans in general, by nature, get joy in helping others. This has been proven scientifically time and time again.
It used to be that questionnaires were common practice, especially when quiz sites were popular, but recently I have seen a pretty big decline in their use. Instead, I've seen a greater increase in the lazy 1-5 star "general feedback" rating widgets. While this is nice and all, this gives you absolutely nothing as far as detailed feedback goes. 5 stars for what? What was liked about it? What could have been improved? What should be taken out or is not valid to the point of the niche? Too many questions remain unanswered.
But how does this help us?Questionnaires area great way to get information from current systems, sites, products, etc - however they can also be used to get information before you even get started! For example, if you want to more clearly define your niche, you can spend a few hours writing out a questionnaire to get feedback from potential viewers (as well as friends, family, colleages, co-workers, and many others!)
Example? As an example, I have created a short questionnaire for my niche, "camping". Please take a moment to look it over (answering the questions while you do would be much appreciated too!) and get an idea of the possibilites that questionnaires can provide you with!

With google forms, it's also possible to collect email addresses - a great way to start off your mailing list! (please note, however, that my form does NOT collect email addresses and that answers are collected anonymously for your privacy)
Best of luck, and if you have any questions feel free to ask them below in a comment!

Hi Jason
This is so true and valuable. This was the way I studied at
University....... I use the write my question in Red ink and that
was a probing pattern of working at the Answers. That is still
the best way of learning.
Great Post. Keep up.
Amina
Thank you for your comment. I look forward to seeing what others have to say about the subject as well - if they agree or disagree with us :-)
