Need Help With Google Errors Please!

If anyone is using the Divi theme out there and can help me, I would be forever grateful!

There are 28 pages on my site with errors in Google Search Console for not being Mobility Friendly, and I have been pulling my hair out all day trying to fix them. These errors are:

Clickable Content Too Close Together

Text Too Small To Read

Content Wider Than Screen

I'm not getting the errors because of font size or other elements on those posts. For some reason, these posts are coming up with all the content on the left:

I've researched all day and tried a bunch of different codes that are supposed to work, but nothing helps these pages load correctly on mobile. I'm waiting to hear from Divi for assistance, but their Live Chat is taking several hours due to high volume :(

Is there anyone out there who knows what could possibly be happening with these posts and how I can fix them? I would be forever in your debt!

Thanks!

Hi Janelle,

It is recommended that Divi runs best on PHP 7, if you are using WA for hosting you may be on the old hosting which is running at 5.6 I believe.

There is a plugin to check,

https://wordpress.org/plugins/display-php-version/

Just install it then deactivate it when you know which one.

If it is the older version contact site support and ask to be updated to the new servers.

It will sort a number of issues and some.

What is the configuration that you are using?

- the Divi theme.

or

- the Divi builder plugin, with a different theme.

If the later some themes can cause a conflict along with certain plugins.

One of the best ways to check and keep tabs on websites for mobile responsiveness is to load it on your phone as a favorite.

Sometimes it can be fine and there is a glitch on Google's end.

I have found that at times it can be necessary to check in the visual builder under the mobile tab.

Just load the site page etc and check it in the mobile version, it may take the odd edit and then save the changes, this may help from the engine room.

In the visual editor just click the circle with the three dots, down to the lower-left there will be three icons, desktop, tablet, and mobile,

Click on mobile and it will display the mobile view, edit this version and that may resolve some of your issues, see the image.

Divi is going ahead in leaps and bounds at the moment, it can be worthwhile joining one of the many Facebook groups, they are a treasure trove of information.

Let us know how you get on.

Mobile responsive basically means that the website will present the website view dependant on the device it is being viewed on.

if the mobile version of the site is not optimized it can create issues.

Thank you so much for your detailed response! My site has been on the new servers and on the Divi theme for awhile now. This problem has only come up within the last few days, and most of the pages are 6 months old or more. When I click to edit the mobile view in the Divi Builder, it looks great and shows no problems.

When I pull the 28 pages in question up on my phone, they do show that you have to adjust them to view them properly. But out of 116 posts, they are the only ones with a problem, and there is nothing in common on those pages different than any others.

Divi did get back with me this morning, so hopefully they'll have some answers. I didn't think about finding Facebook groups to see if they have any information, that's a great suggestion!

My concern is about 1 particular post since this site gets up to 75% of its traffic from that post alone.

I'm hoping that some of this is a Google glitch and it will start resolving itself soon!

Thank you again!

I had similar issues recently, partly caused by an AMP plugin which sent my site 'mad' with everything going topsy turvy. Removing the plugin enabled the problem to be 'fixed' and validated.
I removed the clickable links and re-instated them, separated by a few lines of text. Again this came back as fixed.
I did nothing to resolve the small text issue and yet that came back fixed after validation as well.

I had the same experience with AMP awhile back and removed it. I also separated lines of text where I had clickable links, and it finally let the validation process start on that error.

Hopefully the rest will resolve as well--thank you!

Very welcome.

Things like this come up in google console every so often it seems Janelle.
I have done the same as you in the past, wasted hours trying to put it right and got nowhere and left it. Then a day or two later click validate fix and it disappears.
Now I wait 2 days and click validate fix and whatever it is usually is suddenly miraculously fixed.

Seems like this kind of thing has happened to more than one person. Hopefully it resolves itself--thanks!

Hi Janelle, I wouldn't worry too much. I received the same error report on Tuesday, couldn't figure it out right away. I tried changing the text size even though it didn't look too small to me, but the change didn't work. Since this wasn't my main website, I just left it be without any changes. On Wednesday, I got a message that "Text too small to read" was fixed. I opened up Google Search Console, and all errors seem to be gone. I think that Google had some glitch! :)
Check the Console tomorrow before pulling even more of your hair out. :)

Good to know the glitch was taken care of for you, I hope it's the same!

Write it down in the Help Center inside here there is an 'Ask aA Question' and 'Private Message' Post your question there. They could explain it much better how to do it.

Thank you

Welcome, Janelle
