Scary Email

Email Marketing takes a lot of guts to open, it can be scary, destructive and a space hog. Our mailboxes are flooded with them every morning. There are literally thousands out there. So why do we get Marketing Emails? Who is sending them? What do they have to offer?

Join me while I take time out of my day to open and follow three of my email stalkers;

Uncommon Living -

1. This one is supposed to pay $250.00 for a survey
2. The average time should take 25 minutes (for me it was 35 minutes)
3. I tried to read each of the questions, but found myself just selecting NO to most of them
4. There were 43 pages that I filled out for this, most were multiple choice
5. I don't know if I did get paid
6. I think I may have been on two different websites at the same time

Your works News -

1. This really was only a four step email process
2. Took less than 5 minutes to get through
3. I found the name was just a link to a link to a site I already get newsletters from
4. I did opt out of the email subscription

Big Living -

1. There were 5 windows in total
2. Each window popped up a new one before I had a chance to select anything
3. I eventually had to exit with the Task Manager (CTRL/ALT/DEL)
4. not a really good money maker
5. I opted out of this one

I would like to say that this is the end of my journey into the email marketing clean up for the day, but I know eventually I will have to tackle it again. Being a Freelancer means being your own boss, telling yourself that you are wasting valuable time, and that hour I just spent cost money.
