While exploring I noticed something really interesting. I realized Pinterest Trends can actually reveal something much deeper:

Buyer psychology and platform behavior.

Here’s what I mean…I was researching trending candle products on Pinterest. Naturally, I expected to see Amazon products.And yes, Amazon appeared multiple times.

But then I noticed something surprising: Different candle styles kept appearing on different platforms.

For example:

Amazon:

  • gift sets
  • birthday candles
  • convenience products
  • impulse purchases

Etsy:

  • personalized candles
  • spiritual candles
  • emotional or handmade products

SHEIN:

  • trendy decorative candles
  • cute aesthetic room decor

That made me realize something important: Pinterest users are not just buying products.They are buying emotions, aesthetics, identities, and experiences.

And different platforms seem to attract different kinds of buyers. And it can change the way we look at affiliate marketing completely.

If we approach this something like this:“Which platform naturally matches the emotional intent behind this product?”

For example:

A manifestation candle may convert better on Etsy than Amazon because the buyer is emotionally driven and looking for it on a particular platform.

Meanwhile, a trendy pink bubble candle may perform better through SHEIN or Amazon because the buyer wants quick aesthetic decor inspiration.

Pinterest Trends can be a bigger idea along with product research tools.

It can also become:

  • a buyer psychology tool
  • a platform research tool
  • a niche discovery tool
  • an emotional intent analyzer
