Is it Important to Audit Your Sites?
I have gotten into the habit of auditing my sites twice a year. This allows me to use ideas I have learned from the Wealthy Affiliate classes.
The Wealthy Affiliate courses will teach the basics, but it’s the weekly classes that add so much more to the membership. Then the Premium Plus classes put on by other members help me get into the finer details of my sites and affiliate marketing.
What Do I Look For During My Site AuditI will do a deep dive into a specific article to try to increase the traffic. But twice a year, I will go through every article on my site to:
- Ensure the links are still working
- Change links to different affiliate offers
- Change internal links to articles I want to increase traffic to or more relevant newer content
- Review images – I normally don’t change images, but may add new ones
- Can I add more content? – even a few lines or another section can help
- If it is a product review – is the product still available, if not, do I delete or can it somehow be used for something else?
By updating articles, I am letting Google know that the content was not just thrown up and forgotten. Keeping content current can help Google rankings.
As my sites grow, the audit process will take more time. Currently between my two sites, I have around 350 pieces of content. I will work one site at a time and update several articles a day until I have checked them all.
During this process, I do not stop adding new content. It important to continue adding new article while refreshing older ones.
January can be a great month to start your own site audit.

As you grow and can afford the support, this is an excellent task for a virtual assistant to do.
Yes, a VA can do a lot of this. I do use a couple of writers and will add a VA next year to start taking more off my plate.
