A New Chapter in Life Begins
Seven years ago, I was diagnosed with Epilepsy after having a few grand mal seizures. I fell on hard times, going through depression, asking myself “why me?” – “what did I do wrong?” I continued to have seizures for a few months before my neurologist finally found a drug that controlled my seizures. I gained a lot of weight and never wanted to leave the house as I was afraid I would have a seizure in a public place.
A year went by and I had finally had enough. I realized that I couldn’t let something that I can’t control run my life. I began exercising regularly and trying to eat healthier. I also started college for the first time in my life – after a 25-year break. At the least, I would feel a sense of accomplishment by obtaining my degree and show my children that they should never give up on things in life, no matter how tough it gets.
Two years ago, another grand mal seizure knocked me down again. The first month was tough but I regained my momentum. I finished my bachelor’s degree that year and enrolled in a crossfit gym full-time. I wasn’t going to let anything stand in my way of living a better lifestyle.
Last night I finished another chapter in this journey we call life - I submitted the last assignment for my final class to obtain my MBA. I am one day removed from college, forty pounds lighter and the future looks bright. As I begin this new chapter with Wealthy Affiliate, I know it will take a lot of hard work to get the wheels moving in the right direction but I am committed to making it work. I am inspired by the community surrounding WA and know it is the right fit for me.
