Phishing and Scamming are all part of the dark side of the internet. Malware is right behind them, and would be an equal annoyance if it wasn't for available software that blocks most unwanted intrusions.
Sometimes I wonder if the internet is cultivating more crooks than legitimate enterprises. I guess It goes with the territory we have chosen.
To be honest, I've met some nice people online, couple long term. But I had one guy telling me the same sweet nothings, (that made me suspicious), not swoon. Sure enough, at one point he told me he lost his wallet, and could I "lend" him $250. I deleted him from my contacts, and never heard from him again.
..................and THIS is why I won't go to the internet to find that "LOVE of my life" Everyone keeps bugging me to do this and I have heard some success stories yet I've heard too many stories like this or even worse. I know a woman who is being scammed and there is nothing you can say or do to make her stop giving him the money. I figure the right man or woman should cross your path if it's meant to be. Thanks for sharing if for all the single folks out here. BEWARE!!!!!
I've never tried online dating myself - was thinking of it as a niche.
The thing blew me away is send 100 or 1000 but 1.3 Million?
As a niche as in warning people to be EXTREMELY careful??? I know, when I heard that $1.3 M, I thought she MUST have a mental issue that they didn't tell us about. That's really sad when you think about it......and it's women that scam too! I'd not only feel SO guilty, I would be afraid of getting caught. Crazies in this world. :-)
Hi Jim. I have been on dating sites and met many "female"? dating scammers. Falling in love with me after 1 or 2 emails or chats and asking for money was an immediate red flag. I deleted without sending money. 1 for good guy. Me!

I had someone from Russia start emailing me seemingly from out of nowhere (to my gmail account). She ended up saying she loved me but she needed money to come to see me. Bye bye! Glyn
