The Thrill Is Gone. And So Are My Teeth

It sure feels good to be back home. I have definitely missed my friends here at WA. I have been out of commission for the last 2 weeks after I had all 4 wisdom teeth removed. Everything went fine except for 1 tooth that was sideways and they had to cut into my gums to get a good enough grip to pull it. So for the first time in my life I have had anesthesia and stitches. Wow! First time for everything!

Of course, I must give you some history about myself. I am TERRIFED of having my teeth pulled. I can't watch the parts in movies where they pull out or knock out someone's tooth because it gives me the willies. And since childhood, I have had nightmares about having my teeth fall out. That is why I brush all the time and floss.

But enough about my adventures in the dentist chair. Lets talk about why we are really here....

Prepping was Everything

Since I knew the big day was coming, and I knew I would be in pain for days afterwards, I didn't want to worry about my website. I have a blue health bar right now and my publishing frequency is between 80% and 100%. So there was no way I was going to let stuff not get published while I was in bed drugged up. So I ignored my WA family, and I dug in deep. I wrote 7 outlines and completed 6 articles all with scheduled publishing dates before my big day. I was so far out that I could give myself two weeks worth of recovery before I came back. And it was not easy.

To accomplish all of those articles, I had to work hard. Really hard. I had to make an outline of which articles would I publish on which days and which days I would work on outlines and which days I would devote to writing. I actually really like sitting down and making plans, but keeping them is another story. I am very proud that I was able to keep on track and get everything together before my surgery. It was a huge relief.

Now Back to Business

Coming back, I think, has been the hardest part. It was so easy to just kick back and relax and not have to worry about working 8 hours at my day job and then work 3-4 hours on my website. I caught up on sleeping and binge watched some great TV shows. So today, Monday, I loaded up all my stuff for work and for my website and headed out the door. I was surprised that at only 1 time today I doubted coming home. Now that I am here, and got another article ready for publication tomorrow, I feel renewed.

It truly is good to be home. This is the hands on place for all my hopes and dreams. It is not a place I want to sacrifice for the comfort and safety of my bed. It has gotten me thinking a lot about an idea I read about regarding success over fear.

We all fear the unknown. So that causes us to stress out and perhaps we don't take plunges, like starting our own business, because we are scared of what will happen. I was scared of having my teeth pulled, but focusing on my website and everything I had to do for it actually calmed me for the surgery and in the end it wasn't so bad. I wasn't in that much pain and hardly touched my narcotics they gave me. And in the end, taking the plunge and being your own boss won't be so bad either. Sure there might be bumps in the road, and you have to get stitches, but when you look back on it you see something you can be proud of and possibly a place to call home.

And if you are looking for good Halloween stories about cats, my website on Tuesday will be featuring some chilling ones. Check it out here:

Welcome back Jess. glad to hear you're on the mend. :)

kudos to you for what you have been through. I have been through a lot of bad experiences but never that. Good that you are back.

Thank you. I just loved how everyone wanted to share with me their horror stories about it before it happened and then they all acted like it was nothing afterwards.
