How do you switch your Domain from Go Daddy to NameCheap?

My Domain is about to expire on Go Daddy and they have jumped the price more than I would like to pay. It looks like NameCheap is about half as much as Go Daddy. I was wondering if it could be transferred. Thanks for your input in advance.:-) Jerry Mc
