Inspirational Quote

Hello everybody.

I just wanted to stop on in share a little quote that I have always loved. Whenever I create a new art piece or write a new song, I am constantly second-guessing myself and tend to judge myself very heavily to whether the thing I just created is good enough, or if I should not even bother with it. (This doesn't mean just Music & Art, but almost all things)

I did that for a long where I stopped being creative. I stopped writing. I stopped making Art pieces. My music life went from playing every day and loving it, to trying to find the motivation to even pick up my guitar. I hated that thinking. I hated what it was doing to me. I didn't want to be just a "stick in the mud." I missed being the "Creative, Idea-Filled, Look at the world in a very different perspective" kind of guy.

So anywho, I came across this quote QUITE a few years back, and something about it spoke to, and changed me almost instantly.

~ IF YOU FEEL BAD ABOUT YOUR ART ~

Remember that there's at least one person who genuinely likes your style, looks up to you, and wishes they could do what you do.

Now, it's a short quote, but like I said, it definitely spoke to me and hit me straight to my core. It changed My Thinking. Changed My Attitude. Got rid of my "Creativeness Blocker." I was definitely surprised what those few words did to me. That being said, the more and more I thought about it, the more I thought, "I should apply this to my everyday life and habits." SO I DID and I am a much better and happier person for it.

Yeah, so I just wanted to share that with everybody, and I hope it will change somebody's life (at least a little bit) for the better.

Thanks for reading :)

and as always, Keep Rockin!

Jerrick (J-Rock) S.

That was a nice quote and I can see how that changed you. You needed something to jar the creative flow back into your life again. That is what did the trick for you and I hope that it does the trick for someone else too.

Thank you Mary, glad you liked it. Yep, definitely gave the creativeness a good push that was needed. There were a lot of other things that helped out, this quote was just one of the bigger ones that stood out. I do hope this little quote helps someone else out. To some people it might not mean a thing, but to others (like me) it spoke directly to me. :)

Thanks again!

Jerrick S.

You are very welcome and I agree with you but I believe that it will speak to a lot more of the members then you think. It may not mean a thing but it all depends on how you want to interpret the quote. I know it spoke to me I am going to reread it myself.

Hi Jerrick,

Thank you so much for sharing. I am the type of person who loves to read such posts as I too am looking for something to make my heart smile each morning. Which was why your blog title immediately caught me ;)

I had gone through a similar situation where my morale went low and didnt believe in myself anymore. Reading such posts makes me realize that I am not alone in this journey and if others (like you) can bravely stand up and restart once again, why cant I?

Thanks for the inspiration.

Cheers,
Denise

Hello Denise,

Thank you for the kind message. I'm very happy that my little post brought your spirits up. It always puts a smile on my face when I know I have helped at least one person (like you) become more inspired and up-beat about something. That's awesome. :)

I've had quite a few up's and down's in my life (just like everybody does), and I could usually get past the downers fairly easily and quickly. What started my whole "down spiral," was an extremely bad and horrifying event that happened to me when I was 17, not someone else, me. (If you want to hear my story, you can PM me if you'd like.)

I got even worse there for quite some time before I even thought about being positive. When I did, it took me years to start getting better with pretty much everything. (Physically and mentally) That quote is only one of the things I read (one of the major ones) that changed my attitude and thinking patterns, and I'm glad that I did.
So now I try to be as Optimistic as I can about almost everything, and let me tell you, I'm so glad that I did.

So again, thank you so much, that really does mean a lot to me.

Cheers,
Jerrick S.
