Hi I have a problem, I just joined into an affiliate program and they send me a code that I need to paste in to the root directory of my website to verify that it's truly mine.
What affiliate program was this? Not sure what the root directory was but you should just be able to post an affiliate link on any page of your site in a review or something and you should be fine. If you can't get a better response here I'd email them and ask what the hell they're talking about :p

You need to access FTP to find the root directory. It's just the main website folder. It's a bit complicated to do the first time...do they have any other verification process?
Send them an email and ask if it's OK if you just paste the code into your home page for verification. Usually this is fine, and they understand that not everyone is familiar with their website files.

When I was checking out some other websites I noticed you all have a contact me page. and a form to put the name in and everything. how do I do that
Install a form plugin Contact 7 is very simple and one of the most popular, see : https://th.wordpress.org/plugins/contact-form-7/
Make a new page called 'Contact me' or similar
Add a few sentences to say you hope people like the site & if they have any questions they can use the contact form below
Then add the form
Save the page.
Add the page to your menu
Done
