How to get tips in bitcoin on your blog, videos, etc.
Hi all. I'll be back full time next week after being on a vacation in Italy for two months. Still here, so this will be a short one.
Just wanted to let you all know about a site I just found that lets you add a bitcoin tip jar to your blog or other content very easily. Then, when people appreciate the help you have given them, they can tip you anything from 3/1000 of a cent to $3,795,413,979 (well, if they had all the bitcoins currently minted to date in their wallet).
Just thought this would be good for content creators to know. It's free to accept bitcoin, so unlike paypal, if someone sends you 50 cents, you get 50 cents.
Check it out here: https://www.changetip.com/tipme
Once you have the bitcoin, you can hold them like I do, hoping they go bigger than the USD one day, which by my maths means they'll be worth 252,000 USD each (there are currently 252,000 USD in existence for every bitcoin that will ever be in existence).
On the other hand, if the "drop" from over 1,000 USD to under 300 USD over the last 12 months scares you (if you make it 14 months, it's a rise from around 100 USD to around 300 USD, but whatever), you can just spend them right away on Micrsoft.com, Dell.com, Overstock.com, Expedia.com (hotels only), Newegg.com or through Purse.io on Amazon, which gives you a minimum discount of 8% for using your bitcoins on Amazon through them.
I am not affiliated with changetip in any way. Just thought this would be cool for everyone to know.
Now go back to work! ;-)

I don't know a lot about bitcoin and have been a little leary of starting it up. but seems safe enough to accept tips I suppose.
Can bitcoins be transferred to paypal?
Angela?
Personally, I'd just take the tips which I got and put them into a wallet which you created offline within a BTC wallet client such as Armory or Multibit.
Naysayers, will say that Bitcoins are not safe or secure, but when we look at the history of Bitcoins we'll see that it is us as users of Bitcoins that are not secure, in the fact that people are lazy and don't secure their computers very well at all, combined with the fact that most of the internet dwellers will click click click anything, twice :D
That being said, just be sure to follow proper procedures to better secure your investment :)
They can, through http://localbitcoins.com. Probably easier to just spend them on sites like expedia, dell, microsoft, newegg or through purse.io on Amazon.
Will keep that in mind. Worst case - I know where to look for answers lol. Probably be awhile before I need to worry about it.
Yeah. It closed the page on me after opening an account too. Then I just went back to the page and I was logged in. Weird bug, I guess.
What was that? Did it tell you when I tried to send you 1807 (or something) BTC by accident?
Haha. Good think it errored out since I only have $5 worth on that site. :-) I WISH I had 1807 BTC, but alas, I do not. :-)
Well, no one can be sure, but it's as hard to imagine it going away as the internet. Perhaps not everyone will use it, but it will always have niche value if only for things like this.
So does Microsoft, http://Overstock.com, expedia (hotels only), NewEgg & Dell. Plus purse.io gives you from 8-33% off for shopping on Amazon with bitcoin through them.
And of course my own website (linked on my profile) lists 10s of thousands of other places that accept bitcoin. :-)
