Day two in Wealthy Affiliate

This is my second day being on Wealthy Affiliate and already, I am on course 1, lesson four of my affiliate learning. After seeing my lesson/ task, I decided to purchased a notebook to take notes, write down ideas and write down website that I have visit along with what kyle have mention in his videos.

When I got to lesson three for choosing my niche, I was stuck. It wasn't that I didn't know what my niche is, it more of the fact that it was to broad and I have to narrow it down. So, I spent four hours re-doing my niche list and wrote down the pro and cons to it. I asked myself question like; ' Do I understand this niche? Is this niche popular? How many competitors do I have in that niche? Can I compete with larger companies like Kohls, jcpenney, micheals, etc?"

After stating these question to myself, I started to get scared, frustrated and just wanted to quit. After calming down my fears, I took a breather and just walk around for hour or two. When I got back home, I revisit my niche list and narrow down my list. I know that I wanted to explore art and crafts; however it still to broad and in the end I will be left frustrated. So again I wrote down my ten niche and narrow it down by two list; one for demand and the other is my interest. Then I went and wrote it down by niche and sub-niche and then by topic. I found that some niche that I wanted to explore and expand, there is hardly enough information about, some sites have been closed down, or that the site haven't been update since last year.

Since domz.org have given me more idea of what my niche site going to be about, I went ahead to use google to dig deeper. I have decided that before I can open up my site, I will be doing some research about my niche along with going to the library to find out if the niche I'm going into is still popular or not.

So maybe in following day or so, I will complete my intense research and then open up my first site.

Again, I'm going to take a breather and slow down a bit and revisit my niche list, and decide if that is the one I wanted to go with.
