My progress thus far:

In the words of Martin Luther King “I have a dream….”

….. in the midst of a technology revolution downsizing our employment opportunities, my dream, is to be able to have a successful online business that provides me with a passive income ready for retirement.

My dream is not unique. My journey is not unique. I have been scammed and spent more money than I needed to in an effort to achieve my dream. And yes, I have even given up for a period of time and distracted into thinking that maybe this is just another pipe dream I’ll never achieve.

But the entrepreneurial spirit never died. The dream never died. And as the years rolled on and retirement in the not too distant future is fast becoming a reality I can no longer ignore, and, I attended a seminar telling me how great it is that my job has now become 'digital' and I am are no longer required, but, I’ll have more free time on my hands – just no money to enjoy that extra time I’ll have – thank goodness for Wealthy Affiliate.

Niche I am working on:

I still work full time. My job is not ‘digital’ yet. But recognising the changing employment landscape, 3 years ago, I started my own organic spray tanning business which I work around my full time job. Wealthy Affiliate has shown me how to build my own website and I am consistently No. 1 on Google.

Success:

I am always asked how did I get to No. 1 on Google?

Well I followed Wealthy Affiliate. I completed the course step-by-step being careful not to miss a step and sometimes I went back and re-listened and re-read the course again if I didn’t fully understand the first time or second time! And I diligently did all the tasks asked of me.

I learnt how to set up my website successfully with all the correct information in the backend which no one will ever tell you. Wealthy Affiliate is the only one that shared this vital information which plays such a huge role in Google recognising you as a genuine website and ranking you.

Jaaxy is a brilliant tool and I took Wealthy Affiliates’ advice regarding keywords and what people and myself would search for if they wanted an organic spray tan in Geelong where I live in Melbourne, Australia. Hence my business and website name became ‘Geelong Organic Spray Tanning’. It’s exactly what people search and I come up No. 1 every single time.

It’s true what Wealthy Affiliate say. People always click on the first top listing in Google. When I ask new clients how they found me they without fail always say "I searched for organic tanning in Geelong and you came up no. 1 on Google so I clicked on you".

I followed the same rules for my content and as my site gains more popularity so does my content.

Plans and goals in the upcoming 3 months:

Wealthy Affiliate has taught me how to think outside the square and expand my business and provide valuable education regarding tanning and skin care that I had never considered before. I never thought I would be writing a monthly blog for my followers. But I am!

Plans and goals in the upcoming 6 months

I have been told to aim to be an “expert” in my field. Wealthy Affiliate is helping me achieve that status and I am very excited to continue my journey into the monetisation side.
