Valid Clicks or Mischievous Bots?

I just wanted to share something that has been happening to me over recent weeks, just in case anyone else is experiencing the same anomaly.
While I was overseas recently, my Referrals suddenly exploded.
Prior to October, during the previous two years, I had about five referrals, of which one upgraded to Premium. Since the beginning of October, I've had more than 70 Referrals.
I am quite sure that these are mischievous bots. I say this because the member's name does not match the name in my auto response. As an example:

Member's Name: ErnieBailey - My response: Dear Woodrow.
Member's Name: BritneyBarro - My Response: Dear Manuel.
They are all the same with mismatched names.
I checked with Site Support, who were unable to help. So then I checked with Kyle and he confirmed my suspicion. He did say to not be concerned about it, but there was probably no way of preventing it.
It's just a frustration getting between 5 and 10 every day. I have to check them before deleting, because sometimes the notification of a Follow is actually from a valid member of WA, which I don't want to delete.
Anyway, I just wanted to share this in case anyone else is experiencing something similar and is confused.
Cheers
Jenni
