Day One

I suppose it really shouldn't be titled "Day 1" as this is not the first time I have played with the idea of making money online. Or even of having my own website and setting up affiliates and ads. It has always sounded like a great idea, even something I spent a little time researching, just not something I ever had time to invest in making work.

However this is the first time I am making this an actual pursuit. Gone are the days I haphazardly browse sites about how to make money online before just ending up spending hours on Facebook. Gone are the days I lackadaisically read halfway through "ProBlogger" before getting so distracted I never picked it up again. I am setting this as a goal.

And I take my goals very seriously.

Well, usually.

So far the experience here is great. I have reviewed information I have seen before, and learned some things as well. I have only just had a tiny taste of the community here and I think this might actually be one of the few places I do participate. (I'm usually such an independent. Ask my mom. As a baby I would throw a fit every time she tried helping me learn to walk. I can do it myself, damnit!)

I have set my few financial and non financial goals and hopefully they are achievable. At this point I have no idea what is realistic to expect in earnings, so I am leaving the financial goals especially up for deliberation while I get the hang of things. They might be reassessed at some point, which isn't a bad thing. I'm not (yet) under a time crunch to make this work, so at this time I am more concerned with achieving quality in my niche/content/business than with pushing profits. That is secondary in any business (imho).

Speaking of the niche, I believe I have found one. Interestingly enough, it was my first idea. (I usually take days and days to make any decision like that.) It combines some of my great loves, and the idea as it is has me very excited. I am brainstorming as much as I can, and while I can see how it could work, I am also seeing some kinks. I am going to give myself some time to keep thinking it over, to see if the idea doesn't sour overnight, to see if I can work out said kinks. But in all honesty, I think I am going to have a hard time convincing myself to pursue anything different now that it has a hold on me.
