- 1)Set friends as only me, you will eventually add people involved in business opportunities to your list, you do not want these people adding and pestering all your friends, or stealing all your business contacts.
- 2)Hide all photos on your Facebook that feature someone who did not agree to have their pictures shared with strangers all over the world.
- 3)Go into “your” about me page, make sure you are happy to share the contact details you have listed, you may choose to remove an email address or phone number.
- 4)Beware scammers and fake profiles, never add people with less than 50 friends, these are in 80% of cases fake profiles or boyfriend scams.
- 5)Set objectives, remember why you are there in the first place, it is easy to get distracted on Facebook, either by social things or other opportunities.
- 6)Set a maximum amount of time per day and stick to it, it is easy to convince yourself that you have been working, when in reality you have been surfing.
- 7)Make sure your profile picture is professional, no avatars, no company logos or semi nudity.
- 8)Make Facebook lists, which can be done in friends settings, one for business contacts and one for family and friends, that way the only people seeing the post are the ones on the list you posted to.
- 9)When thinking of posts, avoid politics, religion and jokes that offend an area of society, you will only alienate your followers.
- 10)Facebook is where you build relationships with your followers, let them know who you are and what you are about, it is a “part” of an overall marketing strategy.
