Ron's Really Rewarding Regalia!

Hello everyone in Wealthy Affiliate!

Happy Thanksgiving morning revisited! I had worked on my Thanksgiving post this morning and put it in place because I would be spending the bulk of the holiday at my Army Buddy Ron's house.

The day was shaping up nice, though we will be having snow over the next couple of days!

Kitty was doing well too, and had a lot of food left for her.

Finally, Ron showed up to get me.

Then we were on our way.

Thanksgiving Day's weather was quite nice, albeit chilly. We were over there about thirty minutes later.

Ron continued with some final preparations for finishing a lot of the dishes that we were going to have. Ron told me that there would only be five of us today. His wife and son, JR--a mutual friend, and myself! That was going to turn out to be very pleasant.

He and I were watching the first of two football games on TV in his downstairs bar today while the food was being finished up to serve. JR arrived about thirty minutes late, and shortly after that, it was time to go upstairs to eat.

The spread of good food was very nice, and the company was even better. There was more on the table that we would soon be eating at.

This was a shot of Ron, his wife Julie, and son Travis!

The next image,, is of Julie, her pies and a shot of their kitchen. She and Ron have been married for 38 years, and they have an older son and a daughter. Travis is his youngers, and lives in the other house on Ron's 2 acre spread. He is a big help to his parents, paints, and works a job at Footlocker where Monica also works.

Ron and I served in the US Army in the mid 80s to early 90s. I got out in 1991, and he got out at the end of that year.

I started my own business, went to Kansas State University and graduated there in 1996.

When Ron got out, he went back to his native Montana, and worked about 20 years in construction. He had also become a Methodist minister at some point, as well. I had been working my locksmith business for about 25 years at the time that he and I reconnected.

Unknown to me, he had rejoined the Army during the surge in Iraq and Afghanistan, in 2007, and retire only about a year or two ago! He is a three time Army Combat veteran, service in all three ways. I was amazed and quite honored by his service. I am also quite honored to be counted among his best friends.

After the very fulfilling meal, it was back down to the his bar, which is still being readied for a huge face lift!

The hot tub had received a facelift.

There was even a laser-leveled pad for an above ground pool coming this summer for them. All well deserved in my opinion!

JR was there too, and we watched the full second football game of the day! There was good conversation among us, and another mutual friend, Dennis showed up for a bout half an hour after coming back from Thanksgiving in Wichita, Kansas.

That was nice too!

Finally, after the visit was over, Ron was going to take me back, but JR volunteered to take me back home since Ron had a bit too much to drink. I was glad.

Ron sent me home with a bunch of frozen meat since they ad another half cow arriving soon. I got a T-Bone steak and a few ribeyes in that care package.

He warned me to get ready for more in the coming year!

I am truly blessed to have a friend like him!

A great day was had by all of us, and it had been very enjoyable and laid back! I have done a lot for him over the years since he returned, but the last three years, he has really helped me out a lot more.

I'll end this post with a quote from the movies, It's a Wonderful Life from 1948, I think:

Remember, George: no man is a failure who has friends. Clarence!

I can definitely attest to that! Lifelong friendships are our GREATEST treasure!

I TRUST THAT EVERYONE WHO HAD THANKSGIVING HAD A GREAT ONE!

NOW, HAVE A HAPPY FRISATSU! TAKE ADVANTAGE OF THE BLACK FRIDAY SPECIAL IF YOU HAVE NOT ALREADY DONE SO. THE MONEY SAVINGS WILL BE INCREDIBLE!

Sincerely,

Jeff, the BLOG DOGS, and Kitty
