Hello everyone in Wealthy Affiliate!

According to a Diggity Marketing Website article, there are MANY domain valuation sites on the internet, and these are the TOP 10:

1) Estibot

2) Flippa

3) GoDaddy

4) Sedo

5) Free Valuator

6) Domain Index

7) Epik

8) Website Outlook

9) $ite Price

10) Stat Chest

On a whim, I bought this domain -- frisatsu.com.

For those of you who don't remember, I came up with a term that covers the total weekend (since the days are seemingly morphing into one lately!) FRISATSU

I wrote a Blog post about it:

https://my.wealthyaffiliate.com/jeffreybrown/blog/frisatsu-s...

Let us take a look at the variation of values for this domain:

1) Estibot..................$100.00 (or less)

2) Flippa...................(needs too much initial info)

3) CoDaddy..............$1.054.00

4) Sedo.....................(wants you to purchase, so I could not get an easy valuation)

5) Free Valuator.......$2,155.90 WOW!

6) Domain Index......$ can't comeup with anything

7) Epik.....................$199.00

8) Website Outlook $ not enough information it says

9) $ite Price.............$ This one is tied into Flippa--wants too much info about the business

10) Stat Chest.........$ No site found to even ask for a valuation!

Here is a screenshot of appraisal from Free Valuator www.freevaluator.com

Again, WOW! Shadow even can't believe his eyes!

Suffice it to say, from what I have learned so far with my limited research, these places are all over the board, so we have a range of between $0 and $2,156.00!

With my minimum investment, this is good enough for me! After I figure the associated costs (from Flippa) and the cost of the actual domain $13.99, the most I can lose is around $25.00! Of course if it sells, there is also a 10% selling fee added ot the $10.00 listing fee (which is for the lowest tier)

I am an amateur at this, so I can be totally wrong and welcome any members here to speak up and correct me. My feelings don't get hurt easily!

My advice to anyone who might attempt this is to exercise your own due diligence!

I will provide regular updates as I find out new information!

EVERYONE HERE IN WEALTHY AFFILIATE--HAPPY FRISATSU!

I came here from Cassi's thread- Jeff providing good info in this one, thanks bud 🐫🌞 I have several sites at the moment (mostly rank and rent) and intend to build and sell in the future too. So this is a great list, will come back to this 💪

Much appreciated, Christorv! I will have to tell Cassi Thanks!

Enjoy your Frisatsu!

Jeff

Frisatsun very clever and wow that’s lots and we looked ours up on flippa and it said 1,236 for our domain. We have been trying to get into this and on it so I have money to play around with. To do this or just come up with names, do bids.

Sorry so many questions.

Cheers,
Mathew&Deloris;

I bought four other domains and am currently doing a test run on one of my not so hot domains to iron out the bugs on listing, etc.!

Jeff

I appreciate your information about purchasing domains. I bought one going almost a year now. I was hoping to add content and get going with it. Not being able to do so, I was about to do away with it. Then I saw your encouraging post. Actually, I did a valuation and to my surprise, it was over a thousand dollars. Thanks for sharing.

You're very welcome, Carol! This is not guaranteed, but it is a heck of a benchmark to go by! AWESOME!

Jeff

Domains are a classic, with the estimators there can be huge variations. I think the best bet is to use them as a guide.

It can be intoxicationing to view the estimated values. Like everything in the online world and anywhere it is what someone is willing to pay for something that counts.

A bird in hand is worth two in the bush.

If you get into domains it can come down to how you can add value to that domain. A domain can be perceived to be worth X; a domain with a website and hosting attached can be worth X x 3 in value.

What we see as being good in our own heads may nor be perceived in the market place the same way.

Like all things there is a learning curve, and not every deal goes well there is loss and profit. Once you get that concept in your head you can be onto a winner.

Very true, Alex! I will continue to research and see how everything pans out! Enjoy your weekend!

Jeff
