KUUL life Coming Soon
Last Summer
I have always tried to stay active, been a bit of an adventurist, enjoy mountain biking, skiing, snow shoeing, canoeing and 'scrambling' (trekking in the mountains) Last summer my buddy told me that I could easily do a 15 km hike on the Pocaterra Ridge in Kananaskis (southern Alberta) and said that I would have no problem with the 3600' ascent. I have trekked and scrambled in the mountains many times, but nothing like this. I trusted his experience and his confidence in me, we planned, packed and ventured out. Also important to note that he is 20 years younger than me.
On the top of the ridge (at 3600 feet) I realized that I had pushed my limits to the limit and asked my (experienced) buddy if it was possible to call in the helo rescue as I just could not imagine how I would make the (at times verticle) descent. I forgot to mention that it was 30C, the air quality was poor due to wildfire smoke from BC, neither of which we had expected as the wind had shifted. Oh yea, our camel backs and extra water bottles had depleted 2/3 thru our scramble.
But human survival instinct and the will to succeed can be more powerful than a tsunami.
Ten hours later, to my amazement and relief, we completed our descent. And following our completion I realized and recognized a really sweet gem that I had acquired along the way. Other than the satisfaction of experiencing something that I may never experience again, I took this picture (above) on one of the four peaks (but did not get a picture of the grizzly down in the valley)
If I could do that hike on the Pocaterra, push myself to limits that I had never imagined and came out of it alive and invigorated, then this new venture into e-commerce with Wealthy Affiliate will be a walk in the park.
Btw ... after this adventure I concluded that jumping out of a plane at 14,000 was a no-brainer. Seven days later I did just that. What ... a ... rush!
I am Jeff Douglas. My first of several new ventures is KUULlife.com. I am excited!
Stay tuned.
