Writing Content- Why I Write Longer Posts
Hello Guys and Gals,
You might have noticed that I have not written to you this weekend, I was creating my next blog post. I have it all ready to add my images and links. That is my assignment in my Boot Camp training, this post will not contain any affiliate links.
Content-Length
Starting out you might struggle to write 1000-word posts, no need to be concerned, this is natural. As you become more comfortable longer posts will become easier for you to write, be satisfied at first with shorter content.
Why I Write Longer Posts
Once I have my outline, I just begin writing in each of my headings from my own experience. If you choose a niche that you know about and are passionate about this will be much easier for you to do as well, for my first draft, I just write my heart out not worrying about the length or grammar and spelling. I find this allows me to naturally write longer posts without thinking about it too much, and then with my editing, I shorten my content with my most important information.
Second Draft
Now I go through my content editing, what I really feel is the most important to help my readers, this will shorten my posts usually to a much better length with the best information.
2000 Words Is my Goal
2000 words is my goal to achieve after editing my content, this allows me a good length without boring my readers to death. Also, this allows me to possibly rank for more keywords from the search engines, but don't just add stuff to your content to acquire this length.
Consider what you are writing about, you will find some topics can be covered with less content than others. So don't start just adding junk that is going to bore your readers to get 2000-word content, if you feel you have provided what people need and want to know be happy with that.
1000 Word Content
For many of you creating 1000 words will be more of a challenge starting out, and that was my average length as well when I got started in affiliate marketing myself.
Write naturally the way you would talk to a friend, this will be much easier for everyone to read and understand. Everyone will not understand technical vocabulary, so write for your visitors in simple and easy-to-understand content.

Your commitment to valuable content is great. Longer posts provide depth. Starting with an outline and a free-flowing draft works well. A 2000-word goal after editing strikes the right balance. Quality over quantity is key. Writing naturally ensures accessibility. Asking for help and sharing struggles is encouraged in the Wealthy Affiliate community.

Thanks for the post Jeff!
This is helpful as I've been at this only for about a month now and I feel like I am improving, but can't be sure. It is good to hear that people have the same issues that I am struggling with from time to time, regarding word count of content.
It makes me believe that I'm on the right track.
Thanks again!
Hello TS Lee,

Hey Jeff! I have the Microsoft CoPilot in my Edge browser. I didn't think I'd ever want to try AI but Kyle did a post on it that struck a chord with me. So I gave it a shot. I'm trying to learn all I can about Web3 and blockchain technology. It's a whole new language and I wanted to share some of what I have been learning. So I went to the CoPilot and typed in a bit of what I know and...voila...there was a paragraph. I kept it up until I had a nice post done. I reviewed and made some edits. But, bottom line, what the AI did for me was an accurate reflection of the info I'm getting from digital warriors on YouTube. So my worries about AI were groundless. I'm not going to let it replace my inputs entirely but it does make life easier.
Awesome Grant,
I can relate very well to your feelings on AI. This was not something I felt comfortable using as well at first.
It really is a time-saver. I also find it provides ideas that I would have never come up with on my own that would interest my readers
Have you tried the new Site Content AI feature yet
Jeff
not yet Jeff but that's next...
Me also, Grant
Let me know how it goes for you
