Narrow Niches Are Your Best Friends (and diamonds)
Well, I don't think I invented anything new. But this post could be useful for some of the newbies here. Like me...
I think everyone knows that a broad niche is not necessarily a good one for starters since there are many wolves out there already and we are the sheeps in this game. For example, you want to advertise iPhones but with almost zero experience of website design, marketing etc. Good luck to you...
When the choosen niche is too narrow, maybe you won't be able to generate traffic. Because you don't have a potential audience at all. Maybe you love stuffed pink animals with nicotine odor and a built-in lighter but I don't think there is a fanaticized crowd out there waiting for your reviews...
Here is what you can do. You can find a relatively narrow niche with VARIOUS RELATED PRODUCTS.
Let's suppose you like horses. There are books about horses, documentary and feature-length movies (yeah, porn movies as well but that is a different thing), clothes etc. But "horse" is only an example, your niche could be anything and it could be relatively narrow if there are different products related to it. It could be a sport, an activity etc.
You can always step back and think about what's connected to your idea outside what you (or others) already invented.
