Just Getting Moving
I have had an amazing first four days here on WA. Picking through all the member blogs, recognizing the amount of diversity that I am now in contact with and observing the amount of support the members give each other. This is a refreshing and foreign feeling to receive. It is a little sad to admit but I feel in society today or at least the one I have surrounded myself in, this is not the case. There seems to be more of a tendency to tear each other down whether it be through sarcasm, fear, hate, or ignorance. There seems to be a feeling from people that if one is trying to better their situation then they must feel they are above the ones that are choosing to do nothing.
Since my first daughters birth almost four years ago I have really began to picture a better world, not only for myself and my family but for all people. In hopes that this place my girls are growing up in can flourish and thrive. I feel that in a way I have found a place like this vision I have in WA and I am so excited to be a part of it. As I respond to peoples goals and beliefs on this site it has felt as though I am allowed to open up in a way that is really inline with myself although somewhat alien. I want to thank the community here as a whole and say I am so excited for your positivity and support to rub off on me.

I've been with WA for 21 days now, and at first I just couldn't believe how amazing everyone was, and what a fantastic community I'd become part of -- it gets even better though!
Much like you Joshua, I was so accustomed to other social platforms and the negativity that comes with them, but here...it definitely took me by surprise (I guess it really highlights some of the negative aspects of those other 'social' platforms lol).
