Get out of the pit
Back when Moses was alive and I was a first year stock broker at Pru-Bache, every rookie started in a huge room divided into X shaped cubicles with four newly minted registered reps sharing the space. We had a chest high divider between each desk so we could see and hear what the other reps were saying to their prospects and customers.
The whole goal was to graduate from rookie to high producer as fast as possible. The reward was a private office and your own personal sales assistant. It was a huge pat on the back and it usually acknowledged your chance of long term success just went up dramatically. Every rookie wanted to get out of the pit.
You know the story. Almost none of the rookies ever put in the brutally hard work it takes to make the grade. In fact, most failed completely in their first 90 days.
I suspect building a long term success on line is a lot like getting out of the pit. Focus, commitment, perseverance, dedication and vision are not enough. It's also a matter of putting in the hours of activity. It's like Malcolm Gladwell says. It takes 10,000 hours to get really good at anything.
I'm excited to be part of the Wealthy Affiliate community and embark on my 10,000 hours.
