Indexed on Google?

What does it mean that Google has indexed your website? One significant meaning is that Google has found a place for your website within it's ranking system, Yay! It means that you have created something of substance that Google can appreciate. Having your website indexed on Google is nearly the equivalent to having a big sign displayed in front of your house, or brick and mortar shop, saying, "Here I am!"

But I'm Not Ready for Google Yet!

I haven't done any SEO stuff, I haven't tried to get backlinks, at no time have I tried to allow anyone to see what it is I am working on. Yet, I checked my email earlier, and to my utter surprise, I found a digital parcel from, da, da, da, daaaah, our very own, Wealthy Affiliate. Hmmm, Intriguing. The email read as follows:

Hey Jack,

Great news, your website totallytoolswithjack.com has been indexed by Google.

At any time you can manage your website on the SiteManager page within Wealthy Affiliate:

Getting your website indexed in Google is a big step in the right direction. As you start to build out the content on your website you are going to see your page/posts get indexed at a much higher rate, and you are likely to start seeing some first page rankings soon as well!

SWEET, huh? I was torn as to whether be distraught, or to be excited. I am just simply not ready to be indexed by Google yet, I still have a bunch of work to do! However, I decided after reviewing the entire email, that I should just remain calm and simply continue onward with what I am doing. Things have been going a little slow on my end, I admit, and it is quite possible that I am gently being persuaded to pick up the pace!
