Hey Gang! This is my first blog post so I wanted to officially introduce myself("Hi, I'm Jayson!") along with my first niche website idea. I've pasted my About Jayson copy below as both my introduction, and solicitation for feedback.

ABOUT JAYSON

Hi, my name is Jayson Blocksidge, and I love movies! Who doesn’t, right? I remember four movies from childhood that left a tremendous impact on my young mind: Clash of the Titans,Raiders of the Lost Ark, Close Encounters of the Third Kind and Superman!! I’ve wanted to work in the movie industry ever since.

But in the meantime, I did almost everything to earn a buck. I was a journalist, grant writer, public relations specialist, wilderness adventure guide, residential treatment specialist, restaurant owner, and, believe it or not, a natural limestone rock quarry manager!!

But now, I am working in the film industry, something I truly enjoy and dreamed about since my mother said I bore a striking resemblance to Barry Guiler, the young blond haired boy who got abducted by aliens during Close Encounters! Now that will leave an impression on a four year old!

I want young filmmakers, and people interested in the movie industry in general, to have the same chance I have to work in the business that I love.

I am an Exhibitor Relations Manager for Hannover House, a leading independent film production and distribution company based out of Northwest Arkansas. I specialize in preparing newly acquired independent movies for nationwide theatrical release. My job is to develop professional relationships with film buyers from each of the major movie theater chains, such as Regal, AMC, Carmike, and Cinemark, as well as the smaller independently owned circuits. Then I persuade them to show our independent movies!

I also help the independent filmmaker identify key markets for theatrical release in order to qualify for distribution in ancillary markets (including DVD, Video On Demand and Internet) on such platforms as Netflix, iTunes, Hulu, and Amazon Prime.

Additionally, I am the founder of and main contributor toSuccess For Indie Filmmakers, a professional resource for independent filmmakers.
